After the announcement of the GeForce GTX Titan X based on the Pascal architecture, it is the turn of a new Nvidia Quadro P6000 card aimed at the most professional sector and not at video game players.
Nvidia Quadro P6000: new card based on Pascal for the professional sector
The new Nvidia Quadro P6000 graphics card is based on the same Pascal GP102 core that we can find in the latest addition to the Titan series and therefore most of its features will be very similar. The Nvidia Quadro P6000 features a total of 3, 840 CUDA cores allowing it to deliver maximum power in simple precision calculations of 12 TFLOP / s. The GPU is packed with 24GB of GDDR5X memory with a 384-bit interface and supposedly the same 480GB / s bandwidth as the GeForce GTX Titan X.
On the other hand, the Quadro P5000 has been announced, which has reduced its core to 2, 560 CUDA cores to offer a simple computing power of 8.9 TFLOP / s along with 16 GB of GDDR5X memory with a 256-bit interface. With this it will offer a bandwidth of 256 GB just like the GeForce GTX 1080.
Neither of these two cards offers the full FP64 double precision computing potential of the Pascal architecture, this honor is reserved for the Tesla series intended for environments where the maximum possible power is needed.
