After the official release of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060, and waiting for the commercialization of the customized models of the brands, we will take advantage of to make a performance comparison of Nvidia RTX 2060 vs RTX 2070 vs RTX 2080 vs RTX 2080 Ti. For this we have used theFounders Editionversions in full to make the comparison more objective.

Technical specifications and benefits

We start with the comparison of Nvidia RTX 2060 vs RTX 2070 vs RTX 2080 vs RTX 2080 Ti, providing a table of characteristics for all models. In this way we can quickly study the properties of each card and see the difference between them.

Well, analyzing the specifications of all the models, we see that the RTX 2060 is the only one that has a 192-bit interface, which is not a disadvantage, since the total bandwidth is closer to 2070 and 2080 that these two with respect to the 2080 Ti. This time Nvidia has made its Ti version even more extreme.

Of course it is the one with the least amount of graphics cores and memory, but the interesting thing is that this time the mid-range model implements the same specification of GDDR6 memory at 14 Gbps, something that is greatly appreciated.

Finally, price is something to look at every time. If we remember, compared to the previous generation, we can see how absolutely all models have become very expensive. For example, the GTX 1070 came out with a price of € 394, which is € 235 less than this version. The GTX 1080 came out at a price of € 730 which is 119 euros less than this RTX 2080. And now the RTX 2060 costs 80 euros more than the previous version, which means that it is the one that has risen the least compared to the previous. So in the end, we shouldn't be so unhappy with the result either.

Comparison of graphics performance of Nvidia RTX 2060 and the rest

To test the performance of this Nvidia RTX 2060, the guys at Guru3D have used the following list of games:

  • Battlefield VShadow Of The Tomb RiderDeux Ex Mankind DividedFar Cry 5Stars Wars Battlefront IIDestiny 2Strange Brigade

The test equipment they have used has been the following:

  • Motherboard: MSI X99A XPower Processor: Core i7 5960X (Haswell-E) 8c / 16t at 4.2 GHz Graphics Cards: GeForce RTX 2060 6GB GDDR6 Memory: 16 GB (4x 4096 MB) 2400 MHz DDR4 Power supply unit: 1, 200 watts Platinum Certified Corsair AX1200i Monitor: ASUS PQ321 Native 4K UHD Monitor

Performance test at Full HD resolution (1920x1080p)

In view of the results obtained in the games tested, we see a general trend that the Nvidia RTX 2060 is closer to the RTX 2070 than this one from the rest. That is to say, the gap is opened more from the second graphics card and they remain approximately constant until the top range. Except in some games where the RTX 2080 Ti shows its power and leads others to a greater extent.

Let's see in 2K resolution what happens.

Performance test at WQHD resolution (2650x1440p)

Well we follow the trend in this field too. What's more, in this case we have an RTX 2060 even closer to the 2070. And the gap between this and the other two opens somewhat more. Let's move on to 4K results.

Performance test at Ultra HD resolution (3840x2160p)

In the latter case, the distances are somewhat more balanced with respect to all models, suffering some ups and downs, for example, in Battlefield V. In addition, it is in 4K where the RTX 2080 Ti stands out from the rest more clearly.

What can we extract from these results based on the specifications of each card? Well, some other interesting thing, and that also agrees with what has been seen in the registered FPS rate.

As we said at the beginning, the specifications of the 2060 are closer to the 2070 than the latter and the other models in terms of processing cores. But of course, if we look for example at memory type and capacity, memory interface and bandwidth, we see results that are identical to 2080, the only difference is the number of graphic cores.

In view of these results, we see that the number of cores takes on much more importance than interface and memory properties in this new range of graphics, and it is precisely for this reason that the RTX 2060 is closer to 2070. It really is something very positive for those players with tighter pockets.

In the results obtained in the 3DMark tests, the scores show the general trend and coincide with the results in the games.

Cost and price comparison

We now go on to study a graph in more detail where we show what we would be paying for each FPS we earn with each graphics card. For this we have made an average of all the games tested for each resolution.

In these charts we must take care that the smaller the bar the better it will be and the better the money will be invested.

We also have interesting results to show. For starters, the RTX 2060 is a graphics that is located in the mid-range, for users who want to spend less money to have a good gaming experience at moderate resolutions, 1080 or 2K. This can be corroborated quickly if we see the last graph. In it, the cost per FPS of 2060, although it is lower than the rest, is also the one closest to the others.

WE RECOMMEND YOU GeForce GTX 10 will continue on the market

On the contrary, in 1080 and 2K resolutions it is by far the most profitable of the four and the one that offers the best performance compared to the price we are paying.

Conclusion and final words

What we make clear from these results of Nvidia RTX 2060 vs RTX 2070 vs RTX 2080 vs RTX 2080 Ti, is that the Nvidia RTX 2060 is the card in which we obtain greater advantages over the others, both in cost and performance. Of course this is valid today where there is still no new generation game. What does this mean? Well, the games that exist today have not gone up that generational step that is usually created when we have a new range of consoles.

The new RTX with high capacity for Ray Tracing, goes beyond the current games, and practically none of them puts the new generation Turing in serious trouble. Anyway, the results, today are these and we can say that, if you are a standard player looking for a good graphics card valid for all resolutions and at least price, we believe that the RTX 2060 more than complies.

The price is almost 400 euros, but it is that the next on the scale is close to 650 which is simply stupid, and to top it off it is the closest in performance to this new 2060. Without a doubt the RTX 2070 is the least profitable out of the 4 compared.

We must also keep in mind that all manufacturers have already released their custom versions of the 2070, 2080 and 2080 Ti that have superior performance to the Founders Edition, but we do not see it correct to compare them, without still having results from some 2060 custom ones.

Now we pass the witness to you. Do you agree with us in the conclusions or do you have a different opinion? Which graphics card is the most profitable based on these results?
