Nvidia points to the cart of external graphics cards

Nvidia has also been in SIGGRAPH 2017 although it has not had as much prominence as its great rival AMD. The graphics giant has announced that it is already working with its partners to develop solutions to allow the use of its graphics cards externally.
Nvidia bets on external graphics cards
Nvidia has already announced solutions to use its GPUs externally, specifically, models based on its powerful Titan Xp and Quadro have been discussed, so it seems very clear that they want to stomp and they are going to bet on the highest range and the sector professional. These external solutions will be offered to increase the capabilities of notebook computers in demanding tasks such as video editing, 3D rendering, content creation for virtual reality, artificial intelligence and much more. All this will be possible thanks to the use of the Thunderbolt 3 protocol, which offers enormous bandwidth for perfect communication between the external GPU and the computer.
Recall that the pioneer in the use of graphics cards externally has been AMD thanks to its XConnect technology, which promised to be a revolution but which today has barely settled, partly due to the high price of the purchase of a high-end graphics card and a special module for external use. It also influences that most laptops do not have Thunderbolt 3 and therefore are not compatible.
