Nvidia's next generation of Tesla graphics cards are leaked before the GTC takes place. Inside, we tell you the details.

With the GTC waiting in May, Nvidia plans to launch its new Nvidia Tesla, which are focused on the professional sector. In this case, the specifications of two GPUs have been leaked thanks to the tweeter W_At_Ar_U, in which we see all the details of these components. We are going to show you everything below.

Nvidia Tesla: 8, 000 6 cores and 48 GB of HBM2e memory

We are facing the next Nvidia architecture, the so-called " Ampere ", which we have talked about a lot. The Nvidia Tesla are intended for the data center and HPC sector. We've already talked about Indiana University and its upcoming Big Red supercomputer, which will incorporate Nvidia's upcoming GPUs. It has been rumored to increase performance by 50% over current Tesla.

The specifications have been seen in Geekbench and those Tesla were tested in October and November 2019.

specs

As for the first GPU, it has a total of 7, 936 CUDA cores compared to the current Tesla V100 which has 5, 120 cores. The new one would have a frequency of 1.1 GHz, which should provide between 17.5 and 18 TFLOPs. In addition, it equips 32 GB of HBM2e memory, which is quite a breakthrough in the supercomputer sector. Also, it brings 32 MB of L2 cache, compared to 6 MB of the Volta GV100.

There is still more: this Nvidia Tesla has scored 222, 377 points in the Geekbench 5 OpenCL benchmark. It works with the CUDA 8.0 platform and we assume that it is not yet fully optimized. Equally, these data are shocking.

Moving on to the second GPU, we have 7, 552 CUDA cores, a maximum frequency of 1.10 GHz and 24 GB of HBM2e memory. It has a frequency of 1202 MHz. This would be equivalent to the delivery of 16.7 TFLOPs. We insist that the power is still not optimized.

In his case, it was tested in the OpenCL and CUDA benchmarks. In the first, he obtained 184, 096 points; in the second, 169, 368 points. It also works under CUDA 8.0.

Finally, we would have a variant with 6912 CUDA cores and a frequency of 1.01 GHz. It would also have 46.8 GB of HBM2e memory. "Only" has achieved 141, 654 points in the Geekbench 5 CUDA benchmark.

Nvidia will reveal everything in the GTC 2020

The next generation of Nvidia will be released on March 22 at its GTC 2020 online conference. It will be online for reasons of coronavirus prevention.

This year the 7nm GPUs manufactured by Nvidia and TSMC will be released, an indispensable chip maker for this. According to Colett Kress, the Nvidi CFO, they want to surprise everyone with their own announcement of their 7nm GPU.

Will this technological advance make people talk? Do you expect any RTX in said conference?
