OCZ is unveiling its new SSD drives for the low-cost, low-power market. There will be two models of the OCZ TL100 with 120GB and 240GB of storage space that will use NAND technology and which is manufactured by Toshiba, today the owner of OCZ.

OCZ TL100 will come in 120 and 240GB models

It is said that the OCZ TL100 is manufactured under a TLC-type NAND memory with about 48 layers at 15 nm, which is what OCZ uses in its latest products. The theoretical maximum speed of these SSD drives will be 550MB / s and 530MB / s in sequential read and write, in random it will reach 85, 000 IOPS.

The power consumption of this type of units is laughable when compared to a mechanical disk, in the case of the OCZ TL100, it consumes 440 mW at rest and about 1.6 W on average working at full speed. In addition to this, it is compatible with DevSLP technology, with which it achieves a consumption of 10 mW under this mode.

This model will only be available in 2.5 inch disc format.

Probably the most negative of these units is their durability, in the case of the 120GB model, this has a durability of 30TB and in the case of the 240GB model, this will have a durability of 60TB.

OCZ TL100 will be sold at a price of 45 euros for the 120GB model and 65 euros for the 240GB one.
