OnePlus 6 vs OnePlus 5T: Which of the two is better?

The Chinese brand usually launches two phones a year, although many see this as something unnecessary, since there are usually no great differences. This new generation leaves us with a new design. Although, this is not the only thing that is different between the two models.

First of all we leave you with a table with the specifications of the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 5T. So you can see them and get a first idea about the some of the differences between the two phones of the brand.

Design

Probably where there are more differences between the two phones is in design. The OnePlus 5T arrived at the time with a radically different design than what the brand had done so far. Since I bet on a screen with very fine frames and 18: 9 ratio. They did so at a time when this type of screen was beginning to gain popularity in the high-end.

In the case of the OnePlus 6, we can see that the design has changed again and adapts to what we see in the market. The notch is the great protagonist on the front of the device, a detail that users have not finished liking. Since many do not see the presence of the notch on the phone.

Also the rear presents differences, since the new model has opted for a glass body. A material that we are seeing in some top of the range in Android, in addition to the new iPhone. Without a doubt, it is a finish that gives a premium touch to the device. Although it also makes it more vulnerable to shocks and falls.

Size is another aspect in which there have been changes between both models. The OnePlus 6 has a larger screen than the OnePlus 5T. A notable change, which you may like more or less, depending on whether you like phones with a larger screen. But that also affects the overall design.

Processor, RAM and storage

A change that always occurs between generations is the change of processors. In this case it has not been different, and the new model has the most current and powerful processor on the market. We have Snapdragon 845 in the new high-end. A processor that provides the device with great power, in addition to better integration and operation of artificial intelligence.

In the case of the OnePlus 5T we have Snapdragon 835, the best processor from last year. Logically there is a change and quality jump between processors. Although this model is still a spectacular processor that offers great performance to consumers.

As for RAM and internal storage, one more option has been added in the OnePlus 6, although the first two are repeated. We have a 4/64 GB model, another 6/128 GB and now a superior one with 6/256 GB of storage. Although the latter will be available in some selected markets, as confirmed by the manufacturer.

Cameras

The cameras have not offered any changes or surprises. Since OnePlus has been quite conservative in this regard and maintained the cameras of the previous model, which have worked so well. They have not wanted to take risks. Something understandable if we think that cameras have always been one of the weaknesses of the Chinese manufacturer's phones.

Although the previous generation managed to solve these problems definitively. So they have not wanted to change something that works well. Although they have introduced a change. This is artificial intelligence, which gains more presence in cameras with the aim of improving photos.

Thanks to artificial intelligence, there will be face recognition technology, as well as a portrait mode, among other improvements. So they will give users more possibilities when taking photos with their OnePlus 6.

Conclusions

We can see that there has been an evolution from one model to another, especially in the design there are differences between this OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 5T. But in general it is a logical evolution for the brand and its phones.

Regarding specifications, there have been some changes, although slight. There has been no radical change that makes the brand's new high-end very different. We have logical changes (new processor), but they help the device to give the user a better performance, in addition to giving it more options. But at the same time there are few risks. They have been conservative and have not wanted to change something that worked well.

Which of the two is better? Technically, the OnePlus 6 is the better of the two, since it represents an evolution in terms of specifications and design for the Chinese brand. So we can say that it is the better of the two. Although the differences between the two high-end phones from the manufacturer are not too great.
