Orange daytona, the popular smartphone under magnifying glass
Table of contents:
At the beginning of the year Orange presented this complete and affordable next-generation smartphone, the Daytona, a terminal that can be obtained at zero cost via contract or prepaid at an interesting price of € 150. Let's take a look.
Specifications under examination.
With a classic rectangular design, this Daytona has very balanced specifications to be a medium-sized smartphone, equipped with a 5 ″ multi-touch 4.5 ″ IPS screen with a resolution of 854 × 480 pixels (218 dpi) and with protection screen well-known today, Gorilla Glass.
This terminal is actually made by Huawei, specifically the G510 model, made of plastic and weighing 150gr. It is not exactly the lightest in its promotion, since next to other terminals with similar characteristics it is above such as the Nexus 4, which has a weight of less than 139gr, although its price is also much lower.
The heart of this terminal is powered by a 1.2Ghz dual-core Snapdragon S4 with an Adreno 203 graphics. The memory RAM does not reach the gigabyte, remaining at 512Mb, something scarce nowadays but enough for most of the functions. The internal storage memory as usual in this type of smartphone is 4Gb, expandable up to 32Gb by microSD card. All this powered by a 1750mAH battery.
The rear camera has a 5 Megapixel sensor with LED flash. The video recording remains at a maximum resolution of 480P, that is, without high definition. The front camera is 0.3 Megapixel, simple for video calling.
Finally, the operating system comes with a modified version of the Jelly Bean 4.1.1 called Emotion UI "made in" Huawei, which the only thing that has been removed is the classic application launcher. Curiously, despite being for Orange this terminal, it does not come with any in-house application and only brings some Huawei application such as file management etc.
So far this general overview comes, where we are left with its good screen in both size and resolution and of course being IPS. The balanced features although we miss that it does not have HD video recording, but for its attractive price it is a smartphone that we can not ignore.
