Computers with old versions of windows vulnerable to attacks

A couple of days ago we told you about the fact that the Pentagon still uses computers with Windows 95 and 98. Experts commented on the security risk that this posed. Now the danger extends beyond the Pentagon and those computers. Those users who use old versions of Windows, such as Windows 2003 are in danger of being attacked.

Apparently there have been problems with some security updates. This has supposed that those computers with Windows 2003 and other versions are affected and with the possibility of being hacked. In the United States, there are an estimated 500, 000 Windows 2003 computers connected to the internet. Certainly a considerable risk. Therefore, experts give certain tips to avoid attacks as much as possible.

What can users do?

First, know the danger or risks they face. This is known malware or other spy tools.

For those with a Windows 2003-based computer, there are ways to protect yourself from such dangers. In addition to the usual antivirus and firewall, there are other ways. Some security experts recommend making use of network segmentation. This restricts access to potentially dangerous servers. Also monitoring those servers that are vulnerable is recommended, especially for business.
