Unboxing and design

The presentation of this Ozone Alliance follows the trend of the manufacturer, with a box based on the black and red colors that are its corporate. the box has a very good quality print, and it shows us a high quality image and all the important characteristics of this keyboard, which we will see throughout this review. We open the box and we find another black box that contains the keyboard covered by a bag to protect it, next to it we see the documentation.

The Ozone Alliance is a fairly compact full-format keyboard, as its dimensions are only 444 x 134 x 26 mm with a weight of 1150 grams. The presence of the number pad on the right makes it an ideal keyboard for all types of users, including accountants.

The keyboard is made of high-quality black plastic, with an aluminum upper part and a liquid splash-proof design, something that will be very important for users accustomed to eating and drinking in front of the PC, as it will help avoid a disaster. To achieve this resistance to liquids, a housing has been chosen to protect the electronic components from the devastating actions of liquids. The keyboard is powered by a 1.8 meter braided USB cable that ends in a gold plated connector.

The main protagonists of this Ozone Alliance are its mecca-membrane pushbuttons, specifically, they are Crosstech switches that combine the benefits of mechanical switches and membranes. We have the version with Blue type buttons, which imitate the noise so characteristic of Cherry Blue, although they do not have their double touch. These mechanisms are designed to guarantee optimum response speed and precision, as well as a touch and durability very similar to that of mechanical keyboards.

We remove a few keys and reveal several of these buttons, their design is traced to the Chery MX switches and their derivatives, which will allow us to use all the spare keys designed for these switches.

The Ozone Alliance is committed to a floating key design, which improves aesthetics and makes cleaning easier by placing the switches and keys directly on the keyboard chassis without any unevenness. This design is our favorite, it seems to us a success both for aesthetics and functionality.

This keyboard has a 25-key anti-ghosting, which means that we can press this number of keys at the same time without the system crashing, something very important in games, where many times it is necessary to press several keys at the same time. Gaming Mode has also been included that disables the Windows key to avoid accidental minimizations in the middle of the game, something that can ruin our gaming session.

The Ozone Alliance includes an advanced multi-color lighting system with a total of nine light effects, which is fully configurable using key combinations, since the keyboard does not have management software. Ozone highlights the presence of its sound reactive technology, which will draw the intensity of the ambient sound in beams of light, something that will allow you to enjoy the best aesthetics in the most frenetic battles and in the calmest environments.

The management of its six macro keys is also done through key combinations as it lacks software, something that will come in handy to configure our keyboard much faster and more practical in all operating systems. Multimedia functions and shortcuts to operating system applications have been included in the F1-F11 keys, something that almost all keyboards already offer.

In the back we find the usual rubber feet to prevent it from slipping on the table, and the lifting legs.

Final words and conclusion about the Ozone Alliance

I have been using the Ozone Alliance for several days to play games and write articles on the web, in fact, this review has been written with this keyboard. The keyboard operation has been impeccable all these days, with a good experience both when it comes to typing and playing. At first it becomes a bit strange, when facing some Blue type switches with their characteristic noise, but without the double touch, although you get used to it fast. The touch is quite similar to the mechanical switches, although it is noted that you have to go down completely to reach the activation point, something that does not happen with the mechanical ones.

The management of the keyboard by means of key combinations is very simple and it seems to me quite a success, since we avoid the need to have a program running in the background and consuming resources, although this is a very subjective point, which will appeal to many and will not like to many other users. The quality of the keyboard is beyond question, with a design that looks really very robust and resistant, it is a keyboard made to last.
