We continue with a new peripheral from our friends at Ozone, this time we have the Ozone Neon 3K mouse that wants to offer great precision to the most demanding gamers thanks to its acclaimed PixArt 3320 sensor with a maximum resolution of 3500 DPI. The Ozone Neon 3K comes in a good quality hard cardboard box, the box features a design based on the company's corporate colors, so black and red predominate. The box informs us of the main characteristics of the mouse, among which we find its high-precision PixArt sensor and 3500 DPI, an attractive lighting system in 6 colors and no less than 8 buttons programmable through its software. The box has a flap that opens vertically and that Ozone has used to detail its most striking features and of course we can see the product in detail before going through the box, all a detail.

By opening the flap we have access to a plastic blister that is responsible for protecting the mouse while allowing the most curious to see. Next to the mouse we find a sticker and a small quick start guide.

We turn to look at the mouse itself, we find a braided cable with a black color finish that gives it a classic and attractive appearance while protecting it against wear and tear so that it lasts much longer before it starts to wear out. The Ozone Neon 3K is manufactured with a completely symmetrical design and with a black plastic body, its weight is quite light with a figure of 110 grams without the cable to provide great agility and the best travel speed. Its dimensions are also quite contained with measures of 125 x 65 x 36.8 mm that will fit very well to all hands or most of them.

The Ozone Neon 3K features a symmetrical ambidextrous design that has been thought to provide great comfort and make both right and left handed users feel comfortable with it. Ozone has placed two programmable buttons on each side, a detail that makes the Neon 3K different from most mice that only have buttons on the right side and make it difficult for left-handed users to use.

The touch of the buttons is pleasant and they are quite hard, which gives us a good quality feeling and that they will not break in a short time, we find another programmable button on the top that includes a small LED that is part of the ocnfigurable lighting system. The wheel is medium in size and offers excellent performance with very precise travel on both short and long distances. Like most mice it offers scroll in only two directions (horizontal) and makes us miss a four way wheel especially if you have used one before.

The Ozone Neok 3K works with an advanced PixArt 3320 sensor that has a maximum resolution of 3500 DPI, the mouse offers two operating modes between which we can alternate with the small programmable button on its top. Remember that a high DPI value allows us to make a great tour with a very small movement of the mouse so it will be especially suitable for multi-monitor configurations. In contrast, low DPI values will be ideal in games where high precision of movement is required.

At the top we find the two main buttons that have OMRON Japanese mechanisms of enormous quality and that ensure at least 20 million keystrokes, there is no doubt that it is a mouse that has been designed to offer the user great durability, These buttons are slightly curved to offer a much more comfortable grip and are perfectly accessible to the fingers without any effort. On the back we find the logo of the brand that this time is part of the lighting system.

At the end of the 2-meter USB cable we find the gold-plated USB connector for better conservation over time and better contact.

Ozone Neon 3K Software

The Ozone Neon 3K mouse can be used without the need to install any software, although we highly recommend its installation in order to take full advantage of it. The software can be downloaded from the official website of the manufacturer, once downloaded its installation is extremely easy.

We open the software and we find a great interface in which we have all the menus accessible in a very simple way, so we can have all the parameters at hand at all times. We can create a total of 5 profiles for games with which we can have our mouse always prepared for different situations of use, something that is very appreciated. In addition we can make the profiles load automatically when we open a game, something really practical and that will allow us to always have our mouse ready.

We continue to see the features of the software and come to what is probably the most important, we can assign the functions we want to its eight programmable buttons in a very simple and intuitive way. We find functions as varied and advanced as typical of a mouse, keyboard events such as save, cut, paste, select, search…, functions related to the playback of multimedia files, adjustment of DPI values, profile change and a powerful manager macros. The Ozone Neon 3K allows us to perform a large number of tasks with its programmable buttons in a very simple way.

We now look at the settings of the mouse sensor, we have a total of two DPI profiles that we can configure from 250 to 3500 DPI and always in ranges from 250 to 250. Perhaps it is the weakest point since we only have two profiles and the adjustment range is quite narrow, however with 3500 DPI it should be more than enough for single monitor configurations. We also find the polling rate setting at 125/250/750/1000 Hz.

Finally we highlight the configuration of your lighting system in 6 colors, we can leave it in a static color or select various flashing, breathing and palpitation effects, in the latter we have a bar to adjust its speed.

I have been using the Ozone Neon 3K for a few days and the sensations have been very positive. At first it is a little difficult to get used to the two buttons on the left side but once you do them they are very comfortable and allow you to have a couple of actions at hand, for example they can be configured to do the copy & paste operations in a way very practical. We are sure that all users will know how to take advantage of buttons in their day to day.

Its high precision sensor offers an exquisite and very pleasant operation, perhaps it is striking that it only reaches 3500 DPI but really very few users will miss higher values that tend to be more of a marketing maneuver than anything else.
