Ozone Strike X30 is a mechanical keyboard that will delight the most demanding users with peripherals, thanks to its Kailh mechanisms, the manufacturer can offer us an alternative with a cost significantly lower than its main line based on Cherry MX, while great product quality is maintained and the advanced Spectra RGB LED lighting system looks spectacular. If you were thinking of renewing your old keyboard with a mechanical one, don't miss this complete analysis in Spanish.
First of all we thank Ozone for the trust they placed in giving us the Strike X30 for their analysis.
Ozone Strike X30: features
Ozone Strike X30: unboxing and analysis
The Ozone Strike X30 comes to us in a fairly compact cardboard box, the design of the box is traced to the one we already saw in the previous keyboards of the brand, the color black predominates with red details that give it an unmistakable aesthetic. The manufacturer takes advantage of the faces of the box to give us an image of the keyboard and its main features such as the Spanish layout and the RGB Spectra LED lighting system that rivals that of the largest brands on the market. We open the box and we find another box inside completely black, Ozone takes great care of the presentation of its products and nobody can say that they are not well protected.
Finally we have before us the Ozone Strike X30, it is a full-format keyboard that includes the numerical part on the right, making it ideal for all types of users, including those who need to make extensive use of the numeric keyboard. It is a unit with dimensions of 455 mm x 161 mm x 37 mm and a weight of 1300 grams. It is a fairly compact keyboard to be fully designed, something that has been possible by minimizing the side frames as much as possible.
The keyboard is manufactured with a body that combines aluminum and plastic, the truth is that the aesthetics have seemed to me the best that I have seen in mechanical keyboards although this is already a very subjective point. At the bottom a small wrist rest made of aluminum has been included and we will not be able to remove it although it is very small and will not bother us. In the upper right part, the brand logo has been included along with the LEDs for the gaming mode, the caps lock and the keypad lock.
We take a closer look at the keyboard to appreciate the font used, the usual in the brand and that we see in the rest of the keyboards in its catalog. Yes, it is true that in this model the letters are more marked and look much better without the need for lighting. We can see that Ozone has sent us the unit with a Spanish layout, something that we are very grateful for being able to evaluate exactly the same model that our readers will be able to buy.
We lift one of the keys and we can see in detail the type of switch that has been included in this keyboard, we have the Kailh Red of Chinese origin and they are one of the best alternatives available to the Cherry MX that would have made the cost of making this keyboard. We have the Kailh Red version with a maximum linear travel of 4mm and 2mm for its trigger point. Their activation force is 45 g of pressure so they are very soft and pleasant to the touch. The durability of these mechanisms is beyond doubt with their lifespan of 50 million keystrokes.
The Ozone Strike X30 has Plug & Play configuration and does not require any management software, all possible configurations and customizations can be changed on the fly using key combinations. This may seem like a negative but it really gives us a much more compatible product in all its functions with the different Windows, Android, Linux and Mac operating systems. It also allows the manufacturer to save on costs by not having the need to invest in software development and can sell it cheaper.
On the back of the keyboard we see that Ozone has opted for a quite attractive design, it has surprised me after seeing that other more expensive models are much more conservative in this regard. In this part there is a key extractor that will not come in handy if we have to replace some of them. We also appreciate the legs that serve to lift the keyboard, this time we have two pairs of them to allow greater freedom when adjusting the keyboard.
Finally we have the gold-plated USB connector and a protective cap attached so that we do not lose it.
Spectra lighting
The Ozone Strike X30 includes the company's RGB Spectra LED lighting system, despite the absence of software it is quite configurable using key combinations. We have profiles for 10 colors in static mode, these colors are in turn configurable in 5 intensity levels. lkkIn addition we have a total of 10 light effects that we can configure in two different directions, that is, to the left and to the right. These light modes are:
- 1. Wave2. Pinwheel 3. Breathing 4. Static 5. Drop of reactive rain 6. Explosion 7. Extension 8. Cyclone 9. Exploration 10. Disable LED
Final words and conclusion
Ozone Strike X30 is the new economic mechanical keyboard from the Spanish manufacturer and its first model based on the Kailh switches. The keyboard has a very careful design and it is very pleasant to use, I am used to Cherry MX Red and in the passage to these Kailh I have not noticed hardly any difference, the keys are very soft and pleasant to press so in this sense we have no complaints. The integrated wrist rest helps to slightly improve ergonomics although it is very small making it almost more testimonial than anything else.
Ozone has included the RGB Spectra lighting system that offers us many possibilities although, lacking management software, it is more limited than in its older brothers, despite this, it will help us give it a touch of color that feels great.
In short, Ozone Strike X30 is one of the best options if you are looking for a quality mechanical keyboard, with the numerical part and a very adjusted price. It is for sale for an approximate price of 90 euros. It is not easy to make a product that stands out amid so much competition in mechanical keyboards.
