We continue our collaboration with the Spanish manufacturer of peripherals Ozone, this time we analyze their Ozone TriFX in-ear headphones that promise to offer great sound quality thanks to their high-quality drivers and interchangeable EQ enhancers to adapt the sound to our needs. All this with a metal body and a flat cable to avoid tangles.
First of all, we thank Ozone for the trust placed in giving us the product.
Ozone TriFX technical features
Unboxing and design
The Ozone TriFX headphones are presented in a plastic and cardboard box that allows us to see the product perfectly before going through the box, a detail that is always appreciated. The most important characteristics of these headphones are detailed on the back , such as their three interchangeable EQ enhancers, their metallic design and the ultra-comfortable and insulating ear cushions. The first impression already tells us that we are in front of a good quality product and well accompanied by a good number of accessories.
Finally we open the box and see all the content, we find a case that will serve to store the headphones in the best way when we are not using them, perfect for keeping them as the first day for a long time. Inside this case comes a cable that serves as an adapter to use these headphones on a PC by separating the connectors from the speakers and the microphone, their connectors are gold plated for better contact and better conservation.
Finally, we found the additional pads along with two sets of extra interchangeable enhancers to be able to use the configuration that best suits the characteristics and needs of each user.
We already look at the Ozone TriFX headphones, we see that they are built with a combination of black and red to adapt to the gamer aesthetic so fashionable today, nobody knows why but if there is a color that predominates in the world of peripherals gamer is red. The cable of the headphones is flat to avoid the always annoying tangles, a success since it is a product very prone to them.
The headphones themselves are made with an aluminum body that also combines black and red, as we can see are in-ear headphones that will provide us with good insulation from ambient noise thanks to their silicone pads. These pads are very comfortable and three sets have been included so that each user can put the ones that best suit the size of their ears. These pads will help us to be able to use them during long sessions without feeling too tired.
On the back of the headphones we find a thread for the placement of the EQ enhancers. Ozone provides us with three sets of these enhancers, each of which is focused on improving the treble, bass and midrange respectively so they promise to change the sound quite effectively, at least on paper. What these elements do is modify the resonance of the sound inside the earphone itself.
If we focus already on the technical specifications, we find 9 mm drivers with a frequency response of 10 Hz - 20 kHz, an impedance of 16 ohms, a sensitivity of 95 dB and a nominal power of 10 mW. They also have a microphone integrated in the cable that will serve us to answer calls thanks to the included PTT function.
Final words and conclusion
I have to confess that I really wanted to try these headphones because the topic of EQ enhancers had always caught my attention. After having tried them to listen to music and play I have been quite satisfied with the sound quality they are able to offer. In my case, the bass enhancer is the one that I liked the most, because in this type of headphones with not very large drivers, it is usually precisely the bass that have the least quality, so any improvement in this regard is welcome.
In the case of fans of musical genres in which the mids or trebles predominate, it is very possible that the other enhancers are more interesting. In any case these work without a doubt and are a great help to improve the sound without resorting to a software equalizer.
We recommend reading our guide to the best Gamer headphones for PC.
As for comfort, it must be said that they are quite comfortable headphones although in this sense there are some aspects that can be improved. Its shape is quite elongated and this makes the weight fall away from the ear, which can make them fall more easily. Its silicone pads are very comfortable and thanks to the three games they will adapt to all users without problems. Currently the Ozone TriFX are on sale from 30 euros.
