Pascal breaks the 3ghz barrier, sets new overclock record

Anonim

NVIDIA Pascal GPUs hold the throne of graphics performance in the video game industry, but they are also breaking world records in overclocking. Once again, overclocking enthusiasts were able to break the maximum frequency registers using the Pascal GPU.

NVIDIA Pascal is the fastest clock chip on the market with the latest FinFET technology. Based on Pascal's GPUs, they are the graphics cards for the enthusiastic market that currently hold the throne of performance, which is why overclockers have been having a lot of fun since Pascal launched.

In an event where some 13 world records have been broken, the one that has left the jaw dropping the most is the one achieved using the GTX 1060 graphics card.

The KFA2 GeForce GTX 1060 Hall of Fame reached an incredible clock frequency of 3, 012 MHZ, said overclocking was achieved thanks to the extreme cold of liquid nitrogen.

The card features a Pascal GP106 core and only appears on GeForce GTX 1060 series cards. The same card touched 2.80 GHz at the LN2 event last month and is now exceeding the 3 GHz barrier, proving that the FinFET node, chip specifications and circuitry allow for brutal overclocking.

In the case of the KFA2 GTX 1060 HOF graphics, it has 1280 CUDA Cores and 6 GB of GDDR5 memory. The default clock speed is 1620 MHz and in Turbo mode it reaches 1847 MHz.
