When we run the program we receive a window of quick options:

Toolbar options

Once we open the document to edit, we find an interface that many users probably remember programs like Office Word. In the upper margin there is a toolbar available in two levels: the first one shows the available categories and the second one shows the actions or changes that can be executed in it:

File: options for opening, saving and creating a new document. Home: main window with an open file. View: Sets the display of document pages and zoom. Convert: modify the document to other editable formats such as Power Point, Word or Excel. Edit: add new text, images, backgrounds or watermark. It is also possible to delete elements. Form: edit and recognize interactive areas. Protect: Set passwords to open documents or hide sensitive data. Share: allows you to send or share the document via DocSend, email, Dropbox or Drive. Help: offers us the Facebook link, online help, YouTube channel or go to the PDFelement forums.

How to remove a watermark from a PDF

Often we can find files that need to remove the watermark for final presentation or printing, but unfortunately it may happen that we do not have the original file to edit it, but only the pdf. Luckily PDFelement has this covered and is definitely a strong point to consider. We must distinguish between two types of watermarks:

Image as a watermark: very common since companies and users often use their own logo for this purpose. Text as a watermark: May appear diagonally in the document or in the center, usually with a grayish color or muted tones.

Both models of watermark can be easily removed in PDFelement. We start by running the program and opening the file in question. The options that we are going to use from the edit bar are the following:

Edit> Watermark> Delete watermark. Home> Edit text, images and other objects.

The choice of one model or another may vary depending on the watermark, coming from a pdf saved in third-party software or from the PDFelement itself.

Watermark as picture

In the case that the watermark has been made in a third-party software, it is possible that the command to remove watermark gives us a message such as "No watermark has been created in the document" . However, if this occurs it is when we must use the option to Edit text, images and objects.

This tool allows us to select among all the elements that are placed in the original document, whatever their nature. All we have to do is select the image file that is acting as a watermark and delete it.

Something that may also be of interest to you is the possibility not to remove the watermark, but to move it to another section of the document or modify its size or orientation.

Finally, if we have created the watermark in PDFelement, Edit> Watermark> Delete watermark will work without problems.

Watermark as text

Moving on to the second option, we have the watermarks that are made from text either a slogan or copyright statement.

In the event that the watermark comes from external software, the process to follow is similar to the one we have seen with an image. The main difference is that here we will have to select the letters one by one and delete them.

We can also make a multiple selection by holding Ctrl and clicking with the mouse on each of the elements that we need to delete. As in the case of the image, it is possible to move the elements around the document.

You can add text as a watermark in PDFelement under Edit> Watermark> New Watermark.

Something that you should have in mind and it will probably be useful to the most novice in the digital field is that although there is an image within our pdf with a watermark, we will not be able to eliminate said mark if it is embedded within the image itself. be it text or logo. Yes we can delete it if it was added as such in the document itself (on it as a separate file).

Automate batches

We come to another of PDFelement's strengths, and that is the matter of selecting or creating specific actions for our documents. These actions can be very varied: extract data from the document, convert, optimize, encrypt and (of course) watermarks.

This will bring up a pop-up window where we can choose from a large number of possibilities for the watermark that the document will present:

Text or image Position on the page Location: behind or in front of the content Size Orientation Opacity Pages where it appears

Together with all this we have available a small preview in which we can see the final result of the modifications that we are configuring to the document. When we are finally satisfied with the presentation we accept and press Start.

Once the process is done, a green check will appear to the right of each pdf in the list, indicating that all have been modified and we can click Finish.

Just as we have used the watermark as an example, all the other options to be automated also have customizable settings.

Conclusions about PDFelement
