Peppermint is a distro based on Ubuntu that is currently at version number 6, which in turn is developed under the designs of Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS. Peppermint 7 will use Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
Peppermint is an elegant and lightweight design distro that stands out for using only the Ubuntu versions that enter the LTS stage, very similar to Elementary OS, which has some interesting advantages, such as having official support for several years but it can also happen that there are some programs that stop working during the two years that pass between the LTS versions that are published.
