Small noctua accessories: pwm hub and power converter

Table of contents:

The last chapter of Noctua at Computex has been about two small pieces that will help us to adapt the circuits of our equipment. We will see the Noctua accessories and why they will be useful to us.

The PWM fan hub

The first of the two devices that we are going to see is a hub to connect the fans. As you will see, it is quite simple, but it is actually very useful for anyone who is a bit involved in the world of mounting PCs.

Noctua Hub for PWM Fans

It is a power distributor powered by S-ATA connection and that is capable of supplying power to up to 8 fans simultaneously. Among the benefits it brings, we have an LED for each fan that indicates the correctly connected ones or a magnetized base to facilitate its installation.

According to the same brand, this device works great in sets with other Noctua accessories, such as the NA-FC1 fan controller .

We do not expect it to cost more than € 15 and it will be an acquisition that will give us a lot of headaches when organizing cables.

This small component will be released on the market at the end of 2019.

Dc converter

We have seen the issue of fan voltage several times in this Noctua news. Some could have a PWM to achieve more power or, directly, a heatsink needed 12V power or the like.

Noctua 24V to 12V current converter

To facilitate this and that we do not burst the components, Noctua takes out a small power adapter for the public. The main idea is to allow Noctua 12V fans to work in 24V environments. These systems are more common in 3D printing and industrial applications.

The piece is capable of withstanding up to 1 Ampere and up to 60º of temperature before suffering any type of error. In addition, it is protected from short circuits, overloads and overheating (automatically turns off).

This little companion will also be on the market in late 2019.
