The Philips 349X7FJEW is the first 34-inch monitor with 3440 x 1440 pixel resolution (UltraWide) manufactured by the company. We come across physical dimensions with a base of 810 x 444 x 292 mm and a weight of 8.21 KG. As you can see it is a large monitor and you can enjoy it on a large table that allows us to have a very good viewing distance.

As a good high-end monitor, a panel is 8-bit AV and has a maximum brightness of 300 cd / m² and a contrast ratio of 3000: 1. In our first impression the calibration has come quite well but it is recommended to readjust it via hardware or software.

Its viewing angles are good but they don't impress us . Obviously it is much superior to the traditional TN panel, but with respect to an IPS it is inferior. Also being a little curved (1800R), it is not so necessary, since the immersion is complete while you play or work.

The aesthetic is 100% white and it seems to us a success. Its bezels are generally very thin and in the lower area a somewhat thicker frame but it is great with the general aesthetics.

The base allows us to adjust the monitor vertically, although only a few centimeters. The first problem it presents is that the base is not heavy enough to avoid vibrations or 'shaking' while we are in front of our PC. We believe that it is the most improvable point of this monitor.

As expected, it is compatible with the VESA 100 x 100 mm connection. This support It is super useful if we want to place it on an articulated arm, or with a wall adapter or a MINIPC.

Among its rear connections we have two HDMI v1.4 and 2.0 connections, a DisplayPort 1.2, and four USB 3.0 connections with 1W fast charge. It also has a 3.5mm Mini-Jack audio output and power outlet. This last one works with an internal power supply.

That if we combine it with an AMD RX VEGA graphics card we will have a super powerful system and without FPS drops. Although we already warned that with uan RX 580 we will not be able to get the most out of the monitor, nor the best experience.

We have performed several performance tests in our laboratory. In this way we have been able to assess the different uses that we can give it:

Office and graphic design: We really liked the experience in these two aspects. We quickly get used to it and we do not miss our 4K monitor very much on a daily basis. Games: The vast majority of games support this resolution and immersion impresses in many titles. Although it should be noted that some games do not allow the 21: 9 format to be used in its competitive mode, since it is considered an advantage over other users. Movies and Series: The biggest problem with 21: 9 monitors is that there are two black side stripes left. This becomes a nuisance while viewing a movie or series.

We have a bittersweet taste left with the Philips 349X7FJEW since it offers good performance and very remarkable sensations. Its panel is premium because currently we prefer an excellent IPS PANEL than a VA… We would also like to point out that although the experience is quite good, it is not the best panel with these characteristics that we have tested.

Its price ranges from 810 euros, we believe that it should be somewhat more "economical" to rethink its acquisition instead of other models that are around 1000 euros with a much higher panel . We believe that for 100 or 150 euros cheaper it would have much more sales.
