Philips plans to launch a monitor with 8k resolution
Table of contents:
4K resolution has not yet been standardized and there are already manufacturers who want to make the jump to 8K monitors, as is the case of the firm MMD , a subsidiary of Philips, which plans to launch a 32-inch screen with this incredible resolution.
The first 8K monitors are getting closer
MMD will launch a 32-inch monitor with a resolution of 7680 × 4320 pixels, far exceeding the resolution offered by the 4K 'Ultra HD' standard of 3840 × 2160 pixels. Many experts comment that such a resolution is not justified for such a 'small' screen size, but even so MMD has already announced it, although without giving too much detail regarding its technical specifications.
According to the general rule, a 4K monitor can only be seen on a screen above 28 inches, but here we see that Philips-MMD offers double that resolution on a screen that is 4 inches above what is recommended for 4K.
To this we should add another drawback to take into account, there is still no graphics card that can offer an optimal gaming experience in 8K, and it is barely possible in 4K with the most powerful card at the moment which is the Nvidia GTX 1080 You
The manufacturer has not wanted to give details about anything regarding the type of panel, its price or launch date, so we must surely wait a few weeks to have more news. Will it be out before the end of this year? We will see.
