Plextor announces new m8v drives with sata iii interface and tlc memory

Plextor today announced the launch of a new series of M8V SSDs, which have been designed to offer users the best possible ratio of performance to cost, these will be available in M.2 and 2.5-inch versions.

The new Plextor M8V are offered in 2.5-inch and M.2-2280 formats, in both cases with a SATA III 6 Gb / s interface to be able to offer a product as economically as possible but with a good speed for all types of chores. Inside they combine the use of the new 64-layer BiCS TLC NAND memory technology and a Silicon Motion SM2258 controller. Plextor offers them in 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB versions to fit the needs and possibilities of all users.

With these characteristics, the Plextor M8V are capable of reaching a sequential read speed of 520 MB / s while the write remains at 510 MB / s, they are not the fastest SATA III disks on the market but the difference is very small, since The limit of this interface is 560 MB / s, so there should be little difference in actual use.
