Plextor will release its new PCIe SSDs with NVMe this June under the name M8Se. The new units will have support for the ultra-fast PCIe 3.0 x4 interface and will make use of a Marvell controller alongside 3-bit TLC NAND memory technology manufactured by Toshiba.

According to Plextor, this will allow the M8Se series drives to have superior performance, as well as increased operational stability and durability over classic SSDs with NAND TLC technology.

Still, Plextor's new PCIe SSDs can't compete with Samsung's impressive 960 Pro and 960 Evo SSDs, but will debut directly in the mid-range SSD market.

As for the technical details, it should be noted that the M8Se will be available in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB versions respectively, and will have read and write speeds of up to 2450 MB / and 1000 MB / s.

Also, the random read and write speeds will be up to 210, 000 IOPS and 175, 000 IOPS, respectively.

There will also be models of the M8Se with various sizes and designs. For example, the M8SeY will arrive with a PCI-Express adapter, while the M8SeG will have an M.2 2280 stick and a heat sink. Finally, the M8SeGN will also have an M2 2280 stick, albeit without a heat sink.

The new Plextor M8Se SSDs will be available sometime in June. Official prices have not yet been fully confirmed, although for now it is known that the recommended price of the M8SeG version will be 100 euros for the 128GB model, 150 euros for the 256GB version, 275 euros for the 512GB version. and 470 euros for the unit with 1TB of memory. All units will have a 3 year warranty.
