The manufacturer PowerColor is already preparing the new custom models of the recently released AMD Radeon VII. At least five different models of this GPU are expected.

Custom AMD Radeon VII Arrives

How could it be otherwise, the company PowerColor, one of the main partners of AMD Add-In-Board, is already preparing custom versions of this new AMD Radeon VII. The company would be working on up to 5 different variants of this new GPU.

This news is important, since AMD initially said that we would only see this card available in the base version. Which suggests that the manufacturer has decided to open the veto so that other manufacturers can implement their custom options and thus reach more market sectors.

The development codes of these new graphics cards are AXVII 16GBHBM2-3DH as a reference model, AXVII 16GBHBM2-2D2H corresponding to RedDragon Triple fan, AXVII 16GBHBM2-22 / 2OC and AXVII 16GBHBM2-2D2HD corresponding to RedDevil OC with triple fan. Apart from this, we have no further information available about them.

We recall that this 7nm AMD Radeon VII has 16 GB of 2048-bit HBM2 memory, 3840 Stream Processors and 60 computing units working on a 1450 MHz and 1800 MHz chip in turbo mode. The tests carried out place it just on par with the Nvidia RTX 2080, presenting 25% more performance than previous Vega with the same power consumption.

Today it is the only company that we know of that is independently developing custom models of the Radon VII. It may be because it is the only one that has acquired this benefit, or that there are other brands that still keep it a secret. This will be known with the passage of days or weeks, the good news is that it seems that the stock of this new AMD is going to expand with these new models, something to be thankful for a graphics card that is emerging as the direct rival of the Nvidia RTX 2080, although without Ray Tracing. Do you think more manufacturers will release custom Radeon VII models? Leave us in the comments you expect from the PowerColor versions of this GPU.
