Table of contents:

ASUS unveils ROG STRIX X299-E in video
Computex 2017 has not yet started and is already giving us something to talk about, such as the Intel HEDT X299 platform that will be announced tomorrow May 30 at the famous event in Taipei. Intel will provide details on its next enthusiast desktop platform and fastest processors to date.
As for the new ASUS motherboard, it appears to be part of the ASUS ROG X299 motherboard family. A feature-rich component that doesn't fit anything when it comes to design and aesthetics. ASUS ROG STRIX X299-E will be one of many ROG X299 products to be released in the coming months.
Will use the new LGA 2066 socket
The motherboard has the LGA 2066 socket, which is the one used by the upcoming Intel processors. As for its design, this socket looks very similar to the LGA 2011-V3, so it will probably be possible to continue using the same heatsinks in it. In total the motherboard will use 8 DDR4 memory slots, four on each side of the socket. What we know regarding DDR4 memories is that they will support frequencies above 4000MHz (OC +) with capacities up to 128GB.
As usual, it will also use customizable RGB LED lighting, typical of the ROG.
We will have to wait until tomorrow to know its price and launch date, which should coincide with the launch of the new Intel Skylake X and Kaby Lake X processors.
