First demo of playstation 5 running at 8k and 120fps?
Table of contents:
All eyes are on Sony and its upcoming PlayStation 5 console, which could be announced in 2019 for a later launch in 2020. Sony recently unveiled a next-generation television technology called CLEDIS that offers 8K resolution. To demonstrate the image quality of the screen, the Japanese company offered a demo of GT Sports running at 8K and 120 fps.
Sony shows Gran Turismo Sports running at 8K and 120 fps
This demo has set off alarms about what the PlayStation 5 could offer, although I am personally skeptical that the console can be so powerful that all games reach this type of resolution and frame rate.
The CLEDIS screen, or Crystal LED Display System, was exhibited in its native 8K version (7680 × 4320) at an enormous frequency of 120Hz. This 'destroys' native 8K panels like the Dell UP3218K which only has a native 60Hz refresh rate.
Is it the first demo of PlayStation 5?
In the case of the PS5, the CLEDIS system was displayed on a 440-inch screen with viewing angles of almost 180 degrees. On this huge screen we were able to see Gran Turismo on a PlayStation console of some sort, with people who obviously think it is the next generation of PS5.
Currently Gran Turismo Sports is only a PlayStation 4 game, so we ruled out that it was running on a powerful PC. Unless the Polyphony Digital team, the Gran Turismo studio, has made a demonstration exclusively for the presentation of this Sony screen.
We want to make it clear that for us it is nothing more than a sale of smoke by the company. Currently there is no hardware on PC that is capable of moving such rates by 8K. We are not yet able to play 4K at 144 Hz to play 8K. What do you think? Do you think PlayStation 5 can achieve this resolution and frame rate?
