First results of the intel core i9
Table of contents:
The first performance results from the flagship Core-X series processor, the Core i9-9980XE, have come to light. Performance tests show that we are seeing slight gains over the current Core i9-7980XE, which is due to higher clock speeds and an improved thermal design.
Intel Core i9-9980XE is slightly faster than i9-7980XE
Earlier this month, Intel made plenty of announcements for its line of desktop CPUs. Ninth-generation Core-S and Core-X processors were introduced. The Intel Core-S series is already available on the market, but the Core-X parts have not yet been released.
Speaking of the results seen here (via Tum APISAK) , we see that the Intel Core i9-9980XE CPU scores 10, 728 points in the CPU test at 3DMark Timespy. The clock speeds seen in the test are 3.0 GHz as the base and 4.517 GHz in Boost. We know that the 'Boost' of the chip has a nominal frequency of 4.5 GHz, so if it worked in stock, it is a good advance compared to the Core i9-7980XE.
Overall, it can be said that the improvement in CPU thermal design and higher clock speeds result in a better processor, something the Core i9-7980XE should have been from the start.
The Intel Core i9-9980XE will have a total of 18 cores and 36 threads, just like the Core i9-7980XE, although with higher clock speeds. The i9-9980XE chip would have a base clock of 3.0 GHz, a Boost clock of 4.5 GHz and a TDP of 165W. This new Intel processor for the Core-X series is expected to retail for $ 1979.
