With the expired Windows 10 free upgrade offer, Microsoft has released the latest major update for the operating system. Since Windows 10 is constantly evolving, this version brings many new features and fixes to the problems people had with previous versions.

However, with a new version, comes a whole new set of problems. From minor bugs to huge issues, let's take a look at the changes made to Windows 10, what this update brings, and how it can be fixed.

15 Known Issues in Windows 10 Anniversary

Although there may be some unknown issues during the Anniversary implementation, it should be remembered that the issue is not always with the operating system. Some other factors could be causing the problem, including outdated drivers, software conflicts, or certain custom settings.

Applications anchored to the Taskbar

While the Anniversary update promises it won't change any of your stuff, you'll find that Microsoft Edge, File Explorer, and Windows Store are back in the Taskbar after installation.

If you do not want to have Edge and the Store in this bar, simply click on its icons and choose "Unpin from the Task Bar" to get everything back to the previous state.

While you are doing this, you may also notice the pen icon on the right side of the Task Bar. This is a shortcut to the new version of Windows Ink. If you don't want to use it, right-click on an empty space in the Taskbar and disable the option Show Windows Ink Workspace.

Reinstatement

Along with additional applications on the Taskbar, Anniversary resets some of its default applications to suggested Microsoft programs, such as Groove Music for audio files. To put this as it was before, go to Settings> System> Default Applications and choose the one you like best for each type.

Extra announcements in the Start Menu

Windows 10 has brought annoying suggested apps to your Start Menu, and Anniversary doubles the number of them. To remove them, visit Settings> Personalization> Start and uncheck "Show suggestions occasionally on Start. "

Skype Preview is installed and connects

Skype is still a decent service, but Microsoft is constantly pushing it. Even if you have the desktop version of Skype installed, you can still see Skype Preview installed after Anniversary. Windows 10 users need to do this by editing the registry. Open it with "Regedit" in the Start Menu and scroll down:

Unreadable Clock Font

The clock in the lower right corner of the Task Bar is a useful way to quickly check the time, but some users have reported issues where the font turns black and becomes unreadable.

Type "gpedit.msc" in the Start Menu and go to Computer Configuration> Windows Settings> Security Settings> Local Policies> Security Options. Here, enable User Account Control: Administrator Approval Mode for the Default Account. Restart your computer.

Frozen Start Menu and Explorer

After the update, some users have reported that the Start Menu was refusing to open, and the applications remained frozen.
