Although this type of problem cannot be attributed only to Windows 10 Anniversary, it is true that there are users who have encountered problems with their Internet connection after updating. If that is your case, in the following lines we give you some tips to solve it.

1 - Update the network driver

The first recommended option is to update the network drivers to the latest version that has been released. We can tell Windows to automatically search for an updated driver on the Internet. To do this we doing the next:

  • Open Control Panel Enter System We click Device Manager In the Network Adapters section and in the first option of our network controller we right click and click Update driver software.

2 - Disable airplane mode

If we are using Windows 10 on a laptop, it is possible that Airplane Mode is enabled, we are going to disable it very easily:

  • We open Configuration (not Control Panel) We enter the Internet and Network We open Airplane Mode From here you can easily disable this option that may be interfering with navigation.

3 - Troubleshooting

The Windows Troubleshooting Wizard can be useful in some cases. We are going to make it appear to us very easily:

  • We open the Control Panel We click on Troubleshooting We enter Networks and Internet Once there we click on Internet Connections and follow the steps of the wizard

4 - Reset TCP / IP

  • A more advanced option is to reset TCP / IP from our network settings. This method can only be done from the command prompt so we are going to use it. We are going to open the Command Prompt (CMD) with Administrator permissions. Once in the CMD we are going to enter the following instructions in this order

netsh int ip reset

netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel = disabled

netsh int tcp set global rss = enabled

Once this is done we will restart our computer so that the changes are applied.

5 - Deactivate the Firewall

The most radical and least recommended alternative is to disable Windows 10 Firewall. If you do not care too much about leaving the door of your house open while you sleep… we can disable the Firewall as follows.

  • We go back to the Control Panel and open the Windows Firewall We click on Activate or deactivate the Windows Firewall Once there we can deactivate it and test if that solves the problem of Internet connection

I hope these tips have been helpful to you and see you next time.
