"Project Cars 3 will be a spiritual successor to Shift", says the CEO of Slightly Mad Studios
There may not be an official announcement for Project Cars 3, yet, but we can assure you that Slightly Mad Studios has the project in mind. Ian Bell, founder and CEO of the studio, expressed a desire to create a third game as a "spiritual successor" to his previous Shift games.
Need for Speed: Shift departed from the usual Need for Speed formula of arcade racing and police chases, focusing on 'hardcore' simulation racing. The second game largely abstained from the previous brand, being called Shift 2: Unleashed. Slightly Mad Studios continued to make racing games, which they called Project Cars, and of which we already have two titles.
With these words, the team in charge of the famous racing franchise may focus more on the basics and not on adding many more elements that make it too 'complex'. Certainly the statements could be taken for better or for worse depending on how it is interpreted.
Currently the Project Cars franchise is on PC and the XBOX One and PlayStation 4 consoles.
