Microsoft's new design language for Windows 10 is called Project Neon and we hope it will arrive throughout this year 2017, probably with the Redstone 3 update scheduled for autumn. Creators Update is completely ruled out to receive this new design.

Meanwhile, the information that exists about Neon is already being used as a source of inspiration for a wide variety of concepts (concept art), some of which seem to be so good that they deserve to be part of Windows 10.

New Skype design with Project Neon

This is the case of this Skype concept that you can see in an article that was published on reddit by the user MaelNS. The concept uses the unfocused background seen previously in Neon, along with large fonts and a fairly modern look that at first glance really seems to combine functionality and eye-catching design.

If we talk about the user experience, the new interface should not have big changes compared to the current version of Skype, but some details would have to be adjusted, such as the bar on the left, which should be smaller.

Dark and light themes

The creator of this concept did it very well and designed a light and a dark theme, as is already the case in Windows 10.

"I have not removed all curves (corners, buttons, bubbles) because in my opinion it is a good evolution for Windows design. I think Project Neon's visual language should gain its identity primarily through the use of large spaces, and bold large fonts for the title, ” says the concept designer.

Obviously this is a concept made by a person who does not work at Microsoft, and although it looks pretty good, we do not have to wait for it to come to Windows 10 as is. The designers at Project Neon would surely do themselves a favor if they decided to take a look at this work, it looks 'deluxe'.
