Sniper Elite 4 is now available on the Steam platform, the fourth video game in the saga developed by Rebellion is presented with a renewed graphic section, making use of advanced DirectX 12 techniques and Asynchronous Computing, which would be giving AMD an advantage by about Nvidia's solutions.
AMD Graphics Take Advantage of DirectX 12
The folks at Guru3D have released a few Sniper Elite 4 performance tests with different cards from AMD and Nvidia, tests that see an advantage to AMD options under DirectX 12.
Test results in Sniper Elite 4
Sniper Elite 4 does not seem to be an extremely demanding game and it can be seen how a GTX 970 and above exceed 60 frames per second at 1080p resolution and maximum graphic quality. We also see that with a modest GTX 1050 it can already be played in ultra above 30 frames per second.
When we increase the resolution to 4K, things are different and it takes at least one GTX 980 to be able to maintain 30 frames per second. In this resolution we see that the R9 Fury manage to outperform the GTX 1070, surely benefiting from Asynchronous Computing.
Probably the most interesting thing about the tests is the performance of AMD graphics when DirectX 12 works, gaining 24% more performance compared to DirectX 11. You can also see how it scales performance in crossfire (multi-GPU) solutions by 100%!
