Puzzlephone will arrive in 2015 to compete with google project ara
Google has emerged a new rival in modular smartphones, it is the Finnish company Circular Devices and its interesting Puzzlefhone that will be made up of several interchangeable modules like the Project Ara of the internet giant.
The Circular Devices Puzzlephone will consist of three interchangeable modules that are called "Spine", "Heart" and "Brain" being a simpler alternative than Project Ara.
Spine contains the LCD screen, speakers and all the basic structure of the smartphone, Heart for its part contains the battery and secondary electronic systems and finally the Brain module contains the processor and the optical system.
Circular Devices has been working on their Puzzlephone since 2013 and they are close to being able to produce functional prototypes, they hope to be able to put their device on sale in the middle of next year 2015 at a price that corresponds to the current mid-range terminals. At first it will come with the Android operating system but they hope to offer alternatives based on other systems such as Windows Phone or Sailfish OS.
