QNAP® Systems, Inc. today launched the economical TS-x73 Series 4-performance high-performance NAS (TS-473), 6-bay (TS-673), and 8-bay (TS-873) with an AMD RX-CPU. 421ND quad core with Turbo Core, up to 3.4GHz and two PCIe slots to install a QNAP QM2 card, a wireless network card or a graphics card to expand the functionality of the NAS. The TS-x73 series offers small and midsize businesses an ideal NAS solution to build a private cloud for applications including high-speed data transfer, backup / recovery, virtualization, multimedia playback, and graphics display.

QNAP Launches 4/6/8-Bay TS-x73 NAS Series with AMD R-series Quad-core Processor

“The TS-x73 NAS series presents an affordable solution that allows users to add more value to their NAS based on their individual needs. Through the two PCIe slots, users can install a QNAP QM2 card to add SSD caching / 10GbE connectivity to improve performance; a wireless card with the WirelessAP Station application to turn the NAS into a wireless access point; or even a graphics card with a PCIe bus to enable 4K video transcoding and HDMI output for a greater multimedia experience, "said Jason Hsu, Product Manager at QNAP.

The TS-x73 series features a high-performance, low-power 2.1 GHz AMD RX-421ND quad core CPU (Turbo Core up to 3.4 GHz) and 4 GB / 8 GB DDR4 RAM (up to 64 GB). With an optional 10GbE network card installed, it offers up to 2379 MB / s of performance and up to 2332 MB / s with AES-NI hardware accelerated encryption. With two built-in M.2 SATA SSD slots and SSD caching (M.2 SSDs sold separately), along with Qtier tiering automated storage technology, the TS-x73 provides optimal storage efficiency between M SSDs.2, 2.5-inch SSD and high-capacity HDD achieving balanced price, performance and capacity. The TS-x73 series supports block-based snapshots to record the state of the system at any time, thus helping users to mitigate the impact of ransomware attacks and guaranteeing the stability of service operations.

The TS-x73 series features two PCIe (Gen3 x4) slots that allow greater system flexibility. In addition to installing a 10GbE network card to increase virtualization performance, users can also install a QNAP QM2 card that allows two M.2 SSDs to be added for SSD caching or create RAID 5 tiered storage together with the two M.2 SSDs on the NAS to increase data protection. There are also QM2 cards that include 10GBASE-T 10GbE connectivity to provide SSD caching with high-speed network connectivity on a single card.

Alternatively, users could install a low-power graphics card (powered by the PCIe slot only) to increase system performance and enable smooth 4K video transcoding and HDMI output; Install a wireless network card (for example: QNAP QWA-AC2600) to use the TS-x73 as a wireless base station, allowing users to directly access the NAS, including NAS services and Internet connection.

The TS-x73 Professional Series is a unified NAS and iSCSI-SAN storage solution that not only supports VMware®, Citrix®, Microsoft® Hyper-V® and Windows Server® 2016 environments, but can also host native multiple virtual machines (with Windows®, Linux®, UNIX® and Android ™) and containers (LXC and Docker®). Storage space can be flexibly expanded using two 8-bay UX-800P or UX-500P expansion chassis or four 10-bay REXP-1000 Pro expansion chassis. Users can also use QNAP's VJBOD technology to take advantage of unused space on another QNAP NAS for storage expansion.

The TS-x73 provides a variety of useful applications from the integrated App Center. "Qsync" and "Hybrid Backup Sync" simplify file sharing and synchronization between devices; “QRM +” allows centralized administration of connected network computing devices; Browser Station allows remote access through web browsers hosted on the NAS to access local LAN resources without performing complex VPN configurations; "QmailAgent" allows you to centrally manage and switch between different email accounts and archive emails on the NAS; "Qsirch" provides a full-text search to quickly find files; “QVR Pro” integrates video surveillance features into the QTS, providing user-defined recording storage space, cross-platform client tools, camera controls, and intelligent IoT-based event management features.
