Table of contents:
QNAP® Systems, Inc. today officially launched QVR Pro, a surveillance application that runs alongside the NAS OS as a standalone operating environment. QVR Pro turns a QNAP NAS into a professional NVR solution with the benefits of NAS storage expandability and integration with a wide range of IoT devices for an enhanced video surveillance experience. QNAP has also released a mobile version of the QVR Pro Client, giving users greater management and monitoring convenience while on the go.
QNAP Launches QVR Pro, a Professional NVR on the NAS
“QVR Pro is the culmination of knowledge gained after analyzing QNAP NVR user feedback for over ten years. With QVR Pro, we aim to offer improved usability, powerful features, and the addition of NAS functionality, including cross-platform client management and monitoring, CMS concepts, failover capabilities, and expandable storage, among others, "said Alan Kuo, Product QNAP Manager.
Independent storage and scalable capacity
QVR Pro has a “dedicated storage space” on the NAS to ensure that the storage is fully reserved for QVR Pro and is not affected by other NAS applications. As the need for storage space increases over time, users can easily expand their storage capacity by connecting QNAP expansion enclosures to their NAS or using unused storage from another QNAP NAS.
Smarter event management system
QNAP provides various APIs for users to quickly integrate a wide range of cameras and configure event and recording alerts. IoT devices can also be used to make the surveillance system more secure and smart.
Powerful camera management and support
QVR Pro is compatible with thousands of camera models from more than 140 brands and a wide variety of image formats, allowing users to quickly create different video surveillance solutions tailored to their environments while providing convenient management of the cameras. Users can search cameras across different networks, add / manage cameras in batches, use 360-degree cameras, and assign dedicated network interfaces to the cameras.
Flexible recording space allocation and failover
Users can pre-allocate storage capacity and allocate dedicated storage space for each camera's recordings based on the scope and importance of camera monitoring. To ensure uninterrupted recordings, users can set additional volume in the recording space. If the original volume fails, the recordings can be stored on the backup volume.
Cross-platform monitoring and management with QVR Pro Client
The QVR Pro Client can be installed on Windows® and Mac® devices or HD Station on a QNAP NAS. Users can flexibly switch from live view or playback mode for full control of monitored areas.
The newly launched mobile app offers multiple display layouts and allows users to monitor multiple channels simultaneously on the go.
Availability
QVR Pro can be downloaded from the QTS App Center. QVR Pro Client is available for QNAP HD Station (installed from HD Station), Desktop Computers (Windows, Mac and Ubuntu) and mobile devices (Android and iOS).
NAS system requirements:
