QNAP® Systems, Inc. today announces the launch of its new quad-core TS-453mini, a 4-bay vertical NAS that is perfectly suited for limited-size environments like offices or bedrooms in the home. With a sleek design and satin finish, it offers easy installation of hard drives without the need for tools, an easy way to upgrade RAM, a silent ventilation system for heat dissipation and LED indicators with adjustable brightness controls. The sleek TS-453mini is packed with cutting-edge features and applications to provide everything you need for day-to-day file storage, including backup, swap, sync, and multimedia entertainment.
Featuring a 2.0GHz quad-core Intel® Celeron® processor with 2/8 GB of low-power DDR3L (expandable to 8 GB) RAM, and with 2 Gigabit LAN ports, the TS-453mini is a powerful NAS that offers up to 220 MB / s data throughput. It features numerous innovations in its hardware architecture, including a quiet, compact internal ventilation system that helps dissipate heat and reduce dust buildup, a design that allows users to easily and tool-lessly remove the magnetic top cover to add / replace hot-swappable 3.5 ″ hard drives and an easily accessible cover on the bottom to upgrade RAM with minimal effort. Users can connect the TS-453mini to a TV or display via HDMI, allowing them to configure it without a network connection, and without complicated procedures or the need for networking skills.
Its total storage capacity can be flexibly expanded to 96TB by connecting an 8-bay UX-800P expansion chassis.
The TS-453mini also features a highly aesthetic designed “skyline” LED indicator for S3 sleep mode notification system. Users can adjust the brightness of all system indicators based on the surrounding environment and also program the system to automatically dim LEDs at certain times when needed.
With QNAP's QvPC technology, the TS-453mini can be easily operated as a PC, simply by connecting a keyboard, mouse, and HDMI display to directly access stored data, run various applications on Windows / Linux-based virtual machines / UNIX / Android, surf the Internet, enjoy 1080p videos with audio up to 7.1 with Kodi, monitor live images in the Surveillance Station, and much more. Offline and real-time transcoding capabilities enable a seamless video playback experience across multiple devices over limited bandwidth network connections.
The TS-453mini offers extensive support for common office automation applications. It supports VMware®, Microsoft® and Citrix® virtualization solutions to simplify virtual storage management, and has cross-platform file sharing for Windows, Mac, and Linux / UNIX users. Support for Windows AD, LDAP directory services, and Windows ACL improves the efficiency of permission settings. The TS-453mini can also act as a domain controller for Windows, offering flexible backup solutions for Windows and Mac users and disaster recovery solutions, including RTRR, rsync, and cloud storage backups..
