The new Radeon RX VEGA graphics cards are already in the AMD labs and will be launched this year, in fact, the red company discussed the news that will come with this new architecture at the Capsaicin & Cream event. Apparently AMD is in no rush to launch VEGA, but not before taking full advantage of Polaris with the launch of the RX 500.

AMD would be planning to launch the RX 500 in April

According to a rumor coming to us from the German site Heise.de, AMD plans to launch the RX 500 ahead of the Radeon RX VEGA. The new RX 500 graphics would be nothing more than a rehash of the RX 400 series but with higher frequencies.

These new Polaris-based graphics would hit stores in April and use the same nomenclatures as their sisters. The RX 580 would replace the RX 480, RX 570 the RX 470 and the RX 560 the RX 460.

As shown in the table, we see that the RX 580 would have a Turbo frequency of 1340MHz compared to the 1266MHz of the RX 480, then everything would remain very similar. What is not talked about is consumption and AMD will probably surprise here with cooler temperatures in the new series.

VEGA graphics cards can wait a little longer…

The rumor also talks about a new RX 550 graphics card, which could use a new Polaris 12 architecture, but little else is known about it.

If all this is true, it makes us think that the new Radeon RX VEGA graphics could only arrive during the second half of this year. Hopefully they don't make us wait that long, we will keep you informed.
