Razer Atheris is a very compact mouse, something that is evident from the moment we look at the cardboard box in which the Californian brand sends it to us. A small box in the brand's corporate colors, which shows us a high-resolution image of the mouse and highlights its most notable characteristics.

We open the box and find the mouse protected by a plastic and cardboard frame so that it arrives in perfect condition in the hands of its end user. Razer includes its usual stickers, documentation, and two AA Energizer batteries so that we can start enjoying this great mouse immediately, a detail to thank.

We now focus on the Razer Atheris, it is a mouse that is made of good quality black plastic, its dimensions are only 99.7 x 62.8 x 34.1 mm with a weight of 66 grams, it is a very compact mouse, ideal to take it with us everywhere. Of course, when you put the two batteries in, the weight increases considerably, although it is still quite light.

To put the batteries we only have to remove the top of the mouse, just between the two batteries the 2.4 GHz USB receiver is hidden, its size is very small, so it will not bother when we put it on our laptop.

At the top of the Razer Atheris we see the two main buttons, below which are hidden the switches that Razer has developed in collaboration with Omron, mechanisms of the best quality that guarantee a long service life. Right between the two buttons is the wheel, rubberized for a better grip on our finger. Also at the top we see an additional programmable button, it is configured as standard to change the DPI mode.

Razer Synapse 3.0 Software

Razer Atheris is fully compatible with Synapse 3.0, the latest version of the Californian brand setup application. We can use the mouse without the software, but we recommend installing it to get the most out of it.

The application allows us to assign the functions to its six programmable buttons, among them we find multimedia functions, keyboard actions, access to Windows, applications, macros, texts and much more. In this aspect it is a very complete software. It also gives us the possibility to create different profiles and associate them with applications and games, so that they load themselves.

Synapse 3.0 also allows us to configure up to five DPI modes with sensitivity values between 200 and 7200 DPI, more than enough for all users. Added to this is the possibility of configuring ultra polling in 1000/500/125 Hz. Finally, it offers us the possibility of calibrating the surface and managing the automatic shutdown of the mouse when we are not using it. The application shows us at all times the remaining charge in the batteries.

It is time to make an assessment of the Razer Atheris, this mouse has seemed a real gem, because it offers us something that is very difficult to find in other mice on the market. It is a very compact product, with high quality and the best precision. To this are added all the possibilities that Synapse offers us.

The energy consumption is very low, because with two weeks of use for about 6 hours every day, there is still an 81% charge, this means that the batteries will last us months before having to change them. One of the great problems of wireless mice is that their autonomy is reduced, something that does not happen with the Razer Athreis.

The operation of the mouse has been very good, its optical sensor is of great quality, and offers great precision. When playing, it can be done somewhat uncomfortable due to its small size, although we believe that this is not the purpose of this mouse.

Razer Atheris is for sale for an approximate price of 50 euros, a very tight figure for everything it offers us.
