Recently, Razer has released new mice with incredible technologies and we are going to show you a first. However, we will focus on the Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed, the younger brother of this new generation. The best part of this peripheral is that it has a much lower price than its brothers, but in exchange for what.

What can we expect from the Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed ?
If you have been watching the news these days, we have also published an article about a certain Razer Basilisk Ultimate. So what does this mouse offer us that its counterpart does not have?
The Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed has a very strange name, but it is for an important reason: it needs to differentiate itself from its higher version.
Like its twin brother, this mouse is a direct upgrade to the Razer Basilisk Original . However, this peripheral differs from the Ultimate in how it improves its base design.
The main difference is that the Razer X Hyperspeed is a battery powered peripheral. However, far from looking of poor quality, it seems to us a great mouse and possibly the most balanced of the Hyperspeed trio.
Obviously, it has the same design as the Basilisk Ultimate , but, inexplicably, they have completely eliminated the characteristic trigger and much of the RGB lighting .
As for the structure, it will also not mount optical switches, which saddens us. Although what intrigues us the most is that with a battery it weighs around 99.7g (without the USB 98.9g antenna) , something really low.
On the other hand, its hump is a magnetized curved plate where we can store both the USB antenna and the AA battery . Surprisingly, the company tells us about autonomies close to 450h and, thanks to the improvements in efficiency that Hyperspeed technology brings, this seems possible.
We could talk to you in detail about all the new things it brings, but we already covered that in the first impressions about the Razer Basilisk Ultimate . Therefore, we are only going to mention the most relevant ones above.
Relevant technologies
The first thing we have to highlight is the Hyperspeed Wireless technology. As announced by the same Razer , it is a new system capable of competing with the best wireless peripherals on the market.
From what we saw, it is more reliable, faster and more efficient, which is why they offer so much autonomy in hours.
On the other hand, Motion-Sync is a complementary technology that makes the signal much more stable and uniform. It is not something that directly affects the user experience, but we can notice a really smooth movement when using any of these mice.
Then, as the same company calls it, we have Dual Mode Connectivity , which is just a flashy name for calling the Bluetooth connection. In other words, we can connect the mouse via USB antenna with Hyperspeed technology or via Bluetooth , a very popular standard.
And how could it be otherwise, we will also have a button to change the DPI at the base of the mouse. The sensitivity profiles and others will be stored on the same peripheral, so we will not have to edit each time we change it.
Positive points
We want to highlight that the weight of this device is quite good, especially if we compare it with others that are battery powered.
We can achieve an unprecedented autonomy, in addition to a weight of only 99g with a battery. The most obvious comparison is with the Logitech G603 , which exceeds 110g with one battery, with the difference that this device can mount up to two batteries.
If we scolded the Basilisk Ultimate for being overweight to use the battery, we have to reward the Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed . As AA batteries are very heavy ballasts, the peripheral usually feels considerably light.
On the other hand, the cut in some features have allowed the mouse to go to market for a somewhat more acceptable price. We can find this peripheral for an approximate value of € 70, something that resembles the current high-end mouse standard.
Finally, we want to talk about your body, since its design invites you to make a palm-grip, something that will please a large part of the community.
Bad points
On the negative, we have to point out that the switches of the two main clicks are not optical.
It is true that this makes the final price of the product cheaper, but it also gives us a less premium result and, in general, it is a step backwards. The section on reliability, response speed and, in general, the advantages of using light instead of electrical / mechanical mechanisms are important.
The truth is that we do not know how much it could have made expensive to have mechanical switches, but we do not believe that so much either, right?
Luckily, it will have mounted mechanical switches, which have life expectancies of around 50m of pulsations, in addition to very acceptable performances.
WE RECOMMEND YOU Genius Releases GHP-205X Sports Headphones with Flexible HooksOn the other hand, we have to criticize the extraction of RGB lighting .
With so much energy efficiency, we could have quietly enjoyed a bit of light, just like other wireless mice. Later, for the marketing it would only have been necessary to mention that the 450h were obtained with the RGB lights off.
Not for nothing, the most negative point of the Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed we believe is the removal of the trigger on the left side. That button was like a unique sign of the Basilisk , so now we don't really understand why it uses the same name.
The peripheral could have quietly come up with another snake name X Hyperspeed. Although possibly this is because of the fact that it has almost the same body as the Razer Basilisk Original .
Finally, we want to highlight the lack of the standard load magnets on the base.
Since it runs on a battery, it cannot be recharged using the new wireless charging port. This means that this mouse will not follow the path of future Razer mice and, at best, we will only be able to use rechargeable batteries, but never the port.
Final words on the Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed
We believe the Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed is one of the best options you can choose from among the three Hyperspeed peripherals. Although we lose some of the most interesting features of this new line, its price is quite acceptable for what it gives us.
It has its pros and cons, like all products. However, here we do not have the disadvantage of having to cut the wallet to pay for the peripheral.
Also, the addition of Hyperspeed Wireless, Motion-Sync and other technologies seems to us a significant improvement. As we have said many times before, the more renewed an appliance, the more adapted it will be to the times, that is, it will be better.
As in other cases, we think that the greatest asset of this device is its Dual Mode Connectivity .
The versatility of being able to play video games or connect it to the nearest PC to use it as a working mouse is excellent. Many users want an off-road mouse and these small differences will be essential when choosing whether to buy it or not.
However, the last word is always yours , so let us know: what do you find most interesting about the Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed ? Would you buy this mouse for your daily use? Share your ideas in the comment box.
