Razer hammerhead duo review in Spanish (full analysis)

Razer Hammerhead Duo will be the new headphones included in the already extensive family of in-ear configuration of the Razer brand in which we have products with practically all types of connections and features. A set very similar in appearance to the previously analyzed Hammerhead USB-C ANC, but with a differential element, and that is that we have an analog Jack connector for the most purist users.

As always, we appreciate the trust that Razer places in us by transferring this product to us for analysis.

Razer Hammerhead Duo technical features

Unboxing and design

Who would have doubts that we are dealing with a Razer product? The presentation remains as personal and meaningful as ever, in electric black and green colors. A very tiny box of very hard, very hard, box-type cardboard that perfectly stores these Razer Hammerhead Duo. In the front area we have a photo of the headphones in question and in the back area another photo that shows some of the characteristics of them in several languages.

Already inside this box Razer has introduced a quite dense black foam padding that in turn acts as a mold to keep the entire equipment very well organized. We only see a small inconvenience, and this the cap does not have any system to keep it closed, which could be interesting to transport our headphones. Inside this box we find the following:

  • Razer Hammerhead Duo headphones Two pairs of different sized rubber earbuds (in addition to the pre-installed ones) Small user manual

In this case, we do not have COMPLY pads as it did in the Hammerhead USB-C ANC. In any case, it is a lower cost configuration, so we do not complain since with these three pairs we have almost all the needs covered.

We continue to refer to the Hammerhead ANC because in this new generation of headphones the brand uses an external crown of considerable dimensions and completely made of aluminum. That is why the total weight of the set rises to 17 grams.

The configuration is clearly intraural with a great curvature in the element that directs the sound towards our eardrum and surprisingly comfortable despite the dimensions they have.

On the back of the crown, we have the presence of the Razer marza logo, although as you can assume it does not provide lighting. It is not possible with an analog connection like that of the Razer Hammerhead Duo.

The cable is kept at a length of 1.2 meters and is not flat like the Hammerhead Pro range, so they will tangle more easily and we will have to be careful with the connection to the crowns so that they do not break. The cable in question presents a textile braid to the area of the control box and then it is divided into two very flexible silicone cables that go to the speakers.

Speaking a little more about this control box, it is also built in aluminum, and features a total of three buttons. Two of them will be to raise and lower the volume and the other in the center to hang up or pick up the calls on our Smartphone. In this case we do not have noise cancellation technology, since we do not have a built-in DAC and therefore all this will be controlled by the sound card of our PC or mobile.

The pads available are of three different sizes, in my case I have disassembled the ones that I had to place the smallest of all. The comfort, we can say that it is more or less similar to other headphones from the brand, with the detail of that pronounced angle that will prevent us from falling if we do sports or sweat. Perhaps a set of COMPLY pads would have been great for those users who are not too used to this type of headphones.

Drivers and sound experience

Inside these Razer Hammerhead Duo ear heads, two speakers are hidden in each one of them that will provide us with a frequency response throughout the audible spectrum, that is, from 20 Hz to 20, 000 Hz at a sensitivity of 112 dB. We have an impedance of 32 Ω together with a power of 10 and 20 mW.

The microphone for its part is the same as the rest of Hammerhead sets, with a frequency response from 100 Hz to 10, 000 Hz and an omnidirectional pickup pattern as is normal for something that will be in full motion.

The sound quality is fantastic and the spectrum of sounds is very remarkable. These small speakers are capable of reproducing. We listen to the musical instruments and the voice in calls from our mobile phone in complete detail. The balance between bass, mids and highs is a delight and the overall sound quality is impressive for an In-Ear headset.

We have some bass that do not cover the rest of the frequencies at all but that are noticeable quite forcefully, something that is undoubtedly the mark of the house in Razer. If our sound card supports it, you can even activate surround sound, although we highly recommend keeping it in stereo. In general you will notice a brutal difference between these helmets and those that you use frequently, if they are of standard quality.

On the part of the microphone, the sensations have been very good too. Through a call they have told us that they hear us perfectly and also in recordings with software such as Audacity the clarity is good for what we have in our hands. Obviously, their task is not recording, they are not even oriented to streaming with them, so the result is more than worthy.

Conclusion and final words about Razer Hammerhead Duo

We start by highlighting one of the strengths of these Razer Hammerhead Duo, which is undoubtedly their spectacular sound quality. The presence of two speakers inside makes the frequency range to be of better quality and above all clarity. Also, the balance is very good and the power of the bass is just and necessary.

The design is also seen as a success, perhaps at first they may seem quite large, and the truth is that the size compared to the average is significantly higher. This is not an obstacle to being very comfortable and practically immovable when exercising or moving. The soundproofing with the exterior is almost that of a circumaural earpiece.

Something that is worth considering is the configuration of the cables, the brand has opted for round cables instead of flat and also gives us the feeling that we must pay close attention to the connection with the drivers to avoid breakage. We consider it wise to opt for an analog connection via Jack and thus avoid external DACs that can worsen the sound experience.

These Razer Hammerhead Duo are expected to hit the market for around $ 65. The truth is that it is a surprising price for users accustomed to using In-Ear headphones, although not for those followers of the brand. In fact, they are the cheapest of this type of the brand and you only have to take them for a while to notice that they are worth it.
