The original Razer Phone launched the current trend in smartphone gaming, with a 120Hz screen and even the use of lighting systems, lest it look like a phone instead of something to play. We know that the Razer Phone 2 is on the way, the latest leak shows us the device in all its glory.

Razer Phone 2 won't revolutionize design

The new renders obtained by Evan Blass show both the front and the back of the Razer Phone 2. The front looks like the original phone released last year, until those thick edges and the locations of the camera and sensors are kept. The screen also appears to have the same 16: 9 aspect ratio as last year's model, there is no 18: 9 screen.

We switched to the back and found several obvious changes, starting with an illuminated Razer logo to give it a true gaming aesthetic. If the rumors are true, then we would have the possibility to change the logo colors through the Razer Chroma app.

The other major change on the back is the redesigned camera housing, as Razer opts for a center-mounted dual-camera setup. The previous device delivered a camera housing in the upper left corner. We can't tell if there's a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, like on the original Razer phone. However, there is no scanner on the back, suggesting an on-screen sensor, or more likely, a side-mounted solution.

The Razer Phone 2 is slated for release on October 10, a 120Hz display is expected to deliver exquisite fluency in gaming. The first generation device was also equipped with 8GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a 4000mAh battery, so don't be surprised if the new model matches or exceeds these figures.
