Alphacool has sent us two components: the block and the ideal complement, a backplate that is the ideal companion for graphics with a water block.

The box includes:

  • Manual, Screws, Thermal pads.

The Quick Guide quickly explains how this great backplate is assembled.

Top and bottom view.

Without further ado we have assembled it. The design looks great, although the same looks too PCB.

Like the alphacool backplate, it uses its classic black box. Once we open it we see all the accessories.

The block is perfectly vacuum packed.

The bundle includes:

  • Alphacool NexXxoS NVXP Nvidia GTX680 black stainless steel block. Thermal paste. Wrench. Screws and washers. Thermal pads.

The concrete block is polished black stainless steel. A block man as we see in the image.

The base is complete with copper.

These allow us an excellent cooling in the chipset, memories and power phases.

The aesthetic is the best I've seen in blocks. Other prestigious brands that start with E… and end with… K have nothing to do with the quality of the block.

Here we have the two G 1/4 connections for fittings. Both sides can connect a SLI jumper, fittings or plugs.

Here we have a reference GTX680. The first thing we do is install the thermal pads and cover the chipset with a thin layer.

And once assembled it looks great. Although I would have liked it to cover more the PCB of the card.

Here our tests with Furmark for 5 hours:

The Alphacool NexXxoS NVXP Nvidia GTX680 is a block made of aluminum, copper and stainless / polished steel that is available in various colors: black, silver and polished copper. The block measures 194 x 123 x 7mm (17mm in the mounting area). Everything is thought out and alphacool includes 4 G 1/4 ″ threads compatible with SLI bridges.

One of the great virtues is its weight of 855 grams (thanks to its thin aluminum layers) make it a lightweight and highly aesthetic block. And the second great virtue is its quick installation, in a matter of 15 minutes the block is assembled and ready to start.

In our test bench we have used a reference GTX680 and the results have been incredibly good. With the reference heatsink we have obtained 32º in idle and 72ºC in FULL. While with Alphacool NexXxoS NVXP we have obtained 28ºC (-4ºC) and 45ºC (-27ºC difference). Excellent performance.

When we buy a block for our graphics card, it is for us to last a great season, although sometimes we end up changing the card sooner than desired due to pure messing, and that is that Alphacool thinks of all the details and includes us in its bundle: special hardware, thermal pads and paste, manual and the indispensable instruction manual.

The Alphacool NexXxoS NVXP for GTX680 and its backplate can be found at Aquatuning Spain, click here, at a price of € 85 per block and just € 19 per backplate.
