Review: g.skill ripjaws x kit (8gb cl9)

Anonim

This time we bring you a short review of a RAM memory kit from the prestigious brand G.Skills.

After the January release of the new "Intel Sandy Bridge" processors, Intel warned in its specifications that the recommended voltage for the memories would be 1.5v. G.Skill did not want to lose the train of this new socket and released a series of specific memories for Sandy Bridge, although many of us fear that some models have been created based on the memory base that they already had on the market and the only thing they have done has been to change the heatsink. Although the latter is not a criticizable thing as long as they give the size in this socket The kit that we present to you consists of 8gb, with an efficient, aggressive cooling design and with a very attractive red color.

The synthetic tests that we will pass are:

  • Winrar 4.0 Aida 64 Sandra 2011.

We have been quite satisfied with these Ripjaws-X modules. Its dissipation is quite satisfactory, but the heatsink leaves us with a bittersweet point because although aesthetically it exceeds it, it seems to us that a heatsink with more quality could have been made. Also comment that they are not only designed for Sandy Bridge, they are also compatible with the 1556/1366 and AM3 sockets. For most users of this new socket, this kit will more than meet their expectations since for practical purposes we could say that uploading the memory ram at more than 1600 mhz gives a marginal gain in most applications and where these differences can be seen most is in different synthetic tests. We will also remind overclockers that in this socket the importance of the bus has decreased and that Overclock is practically only done through a multiplier, so memory is no longer as decisive as it could be in other sockets. For all this, we consider that for a “normal” user, these memories are ideal for what they offer and for the price they do. For the more enthusiastic there are other kits from the same brand on the market with higher speeds, although it should also be noted that some of them work with higher voltage than recommended by Intel.
