MSI GE62 Apache

Although the GE62 series is a Gamer entry line or at least it has been characterized, it includes a packaging with a PREMIUM design of large dimensions in black and minimalist color. Inside we find two compartments where it houses the laptop and the power cables. The bundle is made up of:

The design of the laptop is very beautiful and with high-status materials: black brushed aluminum. Its size is 383 x 260 x 27 mm and a weight of 2.4KG. Regarding hardware, it is not far behind with a 15.6 ″ LED Ultra HD (3840 * 2160) 16: 9 Anti-Glare with matte IPS technology and Full HD or 4K resolution, i7-4720HQ processor at 2.6 Ghz and 6MB of cache, 16GB of DDR3 memory, a storage system with a 1TB hard drive for storing information and a 256GB SSD for the operating system. Although most of the most comes with the 3GB GTX970M which is capable of moving any current game on this system in FULL HD configuration.

On connectivity it has an RJ45 10/100/1000 model Intel Wilkins Peak 2 7260 that is not a Killer but maintains low latency, Bluetooth V4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n and AC connection, card reader and not forgetting the USB 3.0 ports.. So, yes!

We have a Steelseries keyboard that as many of you will know is one of the best keyboard manufacturers in the world, although lately they are less. This one in concrete improves appreciably the type "Chewing gum". I would also like to highlight the ability to reproduce quality sound.

Lastly, it has well-designed cooling and that thanks to the thickness of the base and the size of the laptop perfectly fulfills its mission. As we see in the images, it has a design with many grids and that its cleaning is really easy. Very good MSI.

Experience and games

As I have previously explained, we have a 4K screen with 3840 * 2160 resolution. And it is that I see it unnecessary for gamers… and an extra cost that is unnecessary for a screen of 15.6 ″. It looks great ok… but… In games we cannot use it because the graphics is not powerful enough to play decently and we have to re-scale to 1080 (FULL HD).

We leave you our experience in games. Remember that all tests have been with a 1920 x 1080 and 4xx configuration.

Final words and conclusion

After making this fantastic review of the MSI GE62 Apache with i7 processor, 16GB of RAM and a high-end graphics card, we can say that it is a new line for enthusiastic gamers who do not want to have a desktop computer and need their transport. By combining Haswell processor they gain autonomy and with a GTX970M graphics card they gain in graphics power.

In our tests we have been able to play any game with a FULL HD resolution: Metro Last light, Battlefield 4 and Tomb Raider. For my taste it is an out-of-series laptop and that is capable of giving a lot of itself.

In short, if you are looking for an excellent laptop and you have a high budget, the MSI GE62 can be found in two versions with a GTX965M graphics card for € 1500 or this specific model for € 2000.
