Scythe presents its new version Kabuto II in a cardboard box. In the front we see all the compatibility with current sockets and in the back all its features.
As we can see it is a single tower heatsink and it has a horizontal dissipation. It includes a 120 mm GlideStream PWM fan, which can be regulated depending on the temperature of the equipment.
An infinity of thin sheets 6 arms / copper heatpipes, will ensure excellent cooling.
The heatsink base is nickel-plated copper and is protected by an adhesive plastic. Remember to remove it for installation.
The base has a mirror effect.
PWM cable.
Scythe allows us to install the heatsink on both the AMD and Intel platforms in all its aquatic sockets: anchors, thermal paste and instruction manual.
We will carry out our installation for socket 1155… We begin by installing the two anchors with their 4 screws and removing the protective adhesive.
We have left to apply the thermal paste and fit the heatsink on the motherboard.
As we can see, the Kabuto II allows us to install high profile memories.
The last step would be to connect the 4-pin fan to the motherboard. This is a 5 minute installation.

We are always known for doing review with high-end material. I wanted to approve how far this great heatsink can go… And I have used one of the best i7 2700k at 5000mhz in Europe and an MSI Mpower Z77 board. We have had an ambient temperature of 19ºC and we have stressed the CPU with Prime95 1792k for 24 consecutive hours.
Scythe Kabuto 2 is a heatsink designed for high-end desktop or HTPC computers. Designed with aluminum and nickel-plated copper that will ensure excellent dissipation.
It comes equipped with a 4-pin GlideStream 120mm PWM fan. With a speed of up to 1300 mhz, loudness 26.1 dBa and an air flow of 73.39 CFM.
In our test bench it has given the size with a whole i7 2700k at 5000 mhz and an Nvidia GTX680. Never exceeding 77ºC at full load.
In short, if you are looking for a high quality heatsink, that allows you to do a high overclocking without leaving you a fortune and a very quiet fan. The Scythe Kabuto II is the heatsink you are looking for. It can be found in stores for around € 33.
