Asus is at Gamescom 2019 taking the opportunity to present some interesting news. Among these new products is the ASUS RAMPAGE VI EXTREME ENCORE motherboard.

ASUS RAMPAGE VI EXTREME ENCORE is unveiled for Intel Core-X processors

Once again the brand presents us with a new reference in its 'Extreme' range with the ASUS RAMPAGE VI EXTREME ENCORE. The motherboard is based on socket 2066 with the Intel X299 chipset. Therefore, ASUS is ready for the next generation of HEDT processors.

The motherboard is prepared with 16 Infineon TDA21472s power phases, prepared for the Core-X series, which usually consume a lot of power. Overclocking is assured and Asus says the circuitry features solid pin ProCool II auxiliary power connectors to maximize current capacity and minimize conduction loss. The VRM zone is hidden under heat sinks with two fans that only rotate when necessary.

The motherboards feature 8 DDR4 DIMM banks that support up to 256GB of four-channel RAM at a memory speed of up to 4266MT / s.

In terms of connectivity we have WiFi 6 AX200, an Aquantia 10G Ethernet port and a large number of USB 3.2 Gen 2 × 2 ports. Of course, we also have the support of four SSDs in M.2 format.

The Extreme Encore has a total of four RGB LED strips, two with standard heads and two others with heads for addressable lighting. The included ASUS Fan Extension Card II has three additional RGB strip heads as well as NODE input and output ports for further expansion.

This motherboard turns out to be quite powerful supporting about 70A in the VRM zone. This theoretically will allow for interesting overclocking potentials.

We'll keep an eye out for more information on the ASUS RAMPAGE VI EXTREME ENCORE, like its price and release date.
