ASUS ROG Strix Scar II GL504GV is a new ROG series laptop that is updated to include a brand new GeForce RTX 2060 or RTX 2070 graphics.

Like many other updated RTX laptops, there has been no significant change in the design of the ASUS ROG Strix or in most internal hardware. Previously the 15-inch Scar II laptop came with a GTX 1060 or GTX 1070, whereas now it can be obtained with an RTX 2060 or RTX 2070, albeit at different prices. The GL504GV, which we see today, makes use of the RTX 2060 at a price of $ 1, 700.
The rest of the hardware has not undergone major changes with respect to the previous generation. It uses the same Intel Core i7-8750H, 16GB of DDR4 memory, and a 15.6-inch IPS display running at 1080p-144Hz. The main storage options have been expanded and now the base model has a 256 GB SSD.

Performance comparison
On average, the single channel configuration of this GPU is 13% slower than the two channel configuration. That's a significant difference simply because you don't have that second memory module there. Some games are hardly affected (As you will see below), such as Dirt 4, Watch Dogs 2 and Wolfenstein II. Others like Prey, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, and Resident Evil 2 see a performance cut of 25% or more as limited memory bandwidth drowns out these games. There is no doubt that dual-channel memory is significantly better for 1080p gaming.
