We are that we left with the comparatives, but it is that they are one of the hottest topics of the moment. If we have previously seen the clashes for the best graphics in the same price ranges, today it will be different. Today's comparison is the RTX 2060 SUPER vs RX 5700 XT for the title of most profitable graphics.

Both graphics have good power and we are sure that they will offer a good experience to every self-respecting gamer. However, each one belongs to a different class. The RTX 2060 SUPER is a mid-range graphics , while the RX 5700 XT practically belongs to the high-end.

We will start by talking about the Nvidia graphics, since it is technically the youngest.

Nvidia RTX 2060 SUPER

This graph is the smallest of the SUPER trio that we have today. Without being excessively cheap, they are the cheapest and lightest version of this line of graphics. However, we should not underestimate them, as they are capable of offering us considerable power.

Because they are mounted on the same boards as the old RTX 2070 , their potential is far superior. On the other hand, they have more CUDA and Tensor cores , making it easier to reach certain power levels. It is for these reasons that it is no surprise that it is equal to or more powerful than its older older sister, the RTX 2070.

The complete characteristics of the graph are as follows:

  • Architecture: Turing PCB board: TU106 Base frequency: 1470MHz Boost frequency: 1650MHz Transistor count: 10.8 billion Transistor size: 12nm Memory speed (effective): 14 Gbps Memory size: 8GB GDDR6 Memory interface: 256-bit Max memory bandwidth: 448 GB / s Power connectors: 1x8pin TDP: 175W Release date: 7/9/2019 Approximate price: € 420

Looking back, this chart achieves very good numbers and is more stable in RTX games. However, the price we pay (literally) for it is high.

The starting price of this graph is around € 70 above the RTX 2060 and around € 70 below the RTX 2070. This means that, by presenting a performance similar to the middle sister, it is profitable, but, not Delivering on the promise of coming out at the same price as the RTX 2060 is not as cost effective as we would like.

Not surprisingly, the question that concerns us is: will it be able to exceed the profitability of the RX 5700 XT ?

AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT

For its part, the RX 5700 XT is AMD's crown jewel. Their graphics duo don't revolutionize the graphics card paradigm like the Ryzen might , but they can mean a bump for the mid-high ranges for Nvidia .

It is a powerful, powerful graphics and with good specifications, so it is not surprising that it is a strong candidate for more profitable graphics. In turn, its opponent in terms of power is the same RTX 2070 SUPER, so it is not about any component. Despite the release of new architecture or board, this graphic seems to be especially well calibrated.

To face today's adversary, here we show you the main specifications of the RX 5700 XT:

  • Architecture: RDNA 1.0 PCB board: Navi 10 Base frequency: 1605 MHz Boost frequency: 1905 MHz Transistor count: 10.3 billion Transistor size: 7nm Memory speed (effective): 14 Gbps Memory size: 8 GB GDDR6 Memory interface: 256-bit Max memory bandwidth: 448 GB / s Power connectors: 1x8pin and 1 × 6 pin TDP: 225W Release date: 7/7/2019 Approximate price: € 420

As you can see, it has similar characteristics, although slightly superior to the RTX 2060 SUPER. We notice it especially in its clock frequencies, which are almost 300 MHz higher. Honestly, the matchup starts off pretty black for the Nvidia graphics .

Given the market we are in, the high price of the SUPER line and the low cost of the Radeon only mean good news for one side.

RTX 2060 SUPER VS RX 5700 XT

Today, July 11 , we already have a certain idea of how the market is treating these charts. With the initial forecasts our predictions pointed to a verdict that, currently, we would see as slightly wrong. However, the only difference in our judgments was the cost these components would take on the market.

In this comparison, however, we can judge with real knowledge and determine a clear winner, if any. If you have already reviewed the other comparisons, contrasting these daughters of technology does not lead us to any different conclusion that you do not already intuit.

It is evident that the Radeon RX 5700 XT is superior in frequencies to the graphics of Nvidia , but not only in that, but also in power, in general. And we just have to see that its most direct comparison is the older sister of this graph, the RTX 2070 SUPER.

It is true that much of its data cannot be directly compared, since Nvidia , for example, uses its only CUDA cores. Also, many of its specifications are identical as the VRAM or the memory speed, but even with that, AMD's architecture and its way of treating data place the 5700 XT above its adversary.

To finish, if we consider that the AMD graphics is equal to or cheaper than the RTX 2060 SUPER and that it is more powerful, the conclusion is simple. It is much more profitable to get an RX 5700 XT over an RTX 2060 SUPER, although we have to emphasize that we will lose Ray Tracing and DLSS in some video games.

Perhaps in the future this technology will be implemented or one of similar operation in AMD graphics, but if you are not a fan of it, you do not lose too much.

Synthetic Benchmark: RTX 2060 SUPER VS RX 5700 XT

As for gross graphics performance, we have a clear winner. It is not the case that AMD dominates in all tests, but in this case it faces an opponent from another league.

In these first two Fire Strike we see how the AMD graphics dominates with a considerable advantage. We also have to mention that in both tests the RX 5700 XT achieves an advantage of more than 10% , which is quite a respectable figure.

In Time Spy Nvidia cards have a clear performance advantage, but still AMD's graphics come out ahead. The difference between opponents is short, but enough to barely exceed 1%.

With these data in hand it is quite evident who has more points to become the most powerful graph. However, we have also been able to savor in some comparatives that the greater gross power does not always mean better performance in everything.

In video games, for example, the best components are sometimes the ones that are best optimized for that specific task and not the most powerful ones. Will the RTX 2060 SUPER be able to flip the data?

Benchmark Gaming (fps): RTX 2060 SUPER VS RX 5700 XT

First of all, we put here the workbench on which we have made the tests:

Processor: Intel Core i9-9900K

Motherboard: MSI MEG Z390 ACE

Memory: G.Skill Sniper X 16 GB @ 3600 MHz

Heatsink: Corsair H100i RGB Platinum SE

Hard Drive: ADATA Ultimate SU750 SSD

Graphics Card: AMD Radeon RX 5700

Graphics Card: RTX 2060 SUPER

Power Source: Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 11 1000W

Monitor: Viewsonic VX3211 4K mhd

We also have to tell you that the benchmarks on Doom (2016) have been done on Vulkan , which is why it has such a high counter.

In the gaming section, we have some peculiar data . Despite the fact that the RX 5700 XT has been taking an important advantage, here we do not always find that one.

WE RECOMMEND YOU Control can use up to 18.5 GB of the VRAM memory of your graphics

There are times when AMD graphics get 10% or even more frames, but in other cases like FFXV we get the same frame counter. On the other hand, if you look at Deus Ex, it is a somewhat strange case, since the Radeon is left behind.

However, as we increase resolutions, we see how these disputes are resolved. Overall, the RX 5700 XT shows significantly more stable performance, especially at 1440p .

When we go up to 4K , the data is more diffuse. None of the graphics is prepared to offer an experience above 60fps in most titles, so they are not highly recommended.

Although the advantage is not the same that we had in the synthetic tests, we did notice more muscle in the RX 5700 XT. The two issues that remain to be seen now are: how much energy do you consume to get all this power? y Is the stock graph capable of keeping the temperature low?

Consumption and Temperatures

Regarding the graphics and their energy consumption, we have to say that they are two components quite average. They are not particularly efficient, but they also do not use excessive watts. Well, we could tug on the RX 5700 XT a bit, but not too much either.

At rest, both graphics spend around 58W , which is a more or less common figure, but when we turn on the engines the thing goes up fast. While the RTX 2060 SUPER reaches an average of 268W , the AMD rises to 285W.

For a common team, it can be dangerous, but we have to think that the graph itself regulates how far to function if there were any unforeseen. To solve these hypothetical problems and for these coming generations we would recommend you to buy sources of at least 600W or 650W.

As for temperatures, things are somewhat worse for AMD .

The AMD graphics cooling solution is not satisfactory enough, neither at rest nor under workload. In the first case, the RX 5700 XT has about 23 ° C extra, a colossal amount. On the other hand, with a load it has an excess of 10ºC, which leaves it at 81ºC.

As we have said before, it is not a dangerous number, but the less degrees it has, the better the component works. Nvidia was also criticized for its Founder's Edition with questionable refrigerations, which is why these systems have improved on this generation.

What is the most profitable graph?

As you will see, the answer to this question is quite direct. For a similar price, or even lower, we can find the AMD chart in according to which markets.

It is slightly more powerful and, in addition, this translates it with an improvement in terms of fps. In addition, it is a much better graphic prepared for use in higher resolutions such as 1440p .

When we raise the bet to 4K, it is no longer such a clear bet, but the important thing is that neither of the two graphics supports such resolutions. In general, choosing the RX 5700 XT is a much more consistent decision.

Of course, when we choose the red team, we have to know that we abandoned any short-term support for Ray Tracing. Currently, this technology is almost unique to Nvidia, and AMD doesn't seem particularly keen on adopting it.

Today we don't have too many games that take advantage of this technology , but a good list has been announced with them. It is a different way of understanding lighting, but it is still a visual effect. Additionally, the RTX 2060 SUPER is a mid-range graphics, which prevents it from supporting this technology to its full potential. From Professional Review we recommend you get, on average, 20 frames per second more above a somewhat poor Ray Tracing and at low fps.

And you, what do you think of the RTX 2060 SUPER VS RX 5700 XT ? Do you think Ray Tracing technology is worth it for a higher price? Share your ideas below.
