AMD officially unveils its new generation of Navi-based RX 5600 XT graphics cards at CES 2020.

RX 5600 XT is officially announced at CES 2020

The RX 5600 XT series had already been seen with custom models from different manufacturers, but had not been announced yet, until today.

Based on the 7nm Navi GPU architecture, the Radeon RX 5600 XT was announced with its official specifications, confirming that it will have 36 computing units with a 'game clock' frequency of 1375 MHz, and can reach a maximum of 1560 MHz (Boost clock). The memory will finally be 6 GB GDDR6.

Priced at $ 279, it will deliver superior performance over the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti and GTX 1660 SUPER. This is confirmed by AMD itself, which showed comparisons with the GTX 1660 Ti in different video games such as Gears 5, Fornite or Apex Legends. It could be deduced that it is up to 10% more powerful. It seems that there will be a tough battle in the mid-range with both graphics cards, very close in price.

On the stage you could also see several custom graphics cards from manufacturers, several of them had been seen before. ASRock, ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, Power Color, Sapphire and XFX are announcing their own custom models, as they have done with the 5700 and 5500 series.

The release date is this January 21.

RX 5600M and 5700M arrive in the first half of the year

The laptop versions of the RX 5600 and RX 5700 series are arriving in the first half of the year. AMD did not give too much precision on specifications, performance or consumption. We will have to wait a little longer to know details about these GPUs, which will be in a large number of laptops during 2020, have ensured that there will be more than 100 Ryzen laptop models released during the year.
