Igor Wallossek of Igor'sLAB Germany has released a method by which the Radeon RX 5700 XT “Navi” can reach speeds of 2.30 GHz, thanks to custom SoftPowerPlay Tables (SPPTs) that are applied through some registry modifications Windows.

RX 5700 XT can reach 2.3 GHz thanks to SoftPowerPlay Tables (SPPTs)

The method would be the following. The Radeon driver is designed to read PowerPlay tables from the video BIOS of an RX 5700 graphics card the first time it is detected, and writes it to the Windows Registry for quick reference. This is called the SoftPowerPlay Table or SPPT. By modifying these values, you can manipulate the power limits of RX 5700 series graphics cards and achieve higher clock frequencies.

The Wallossek mod is to prepare the Windows Registry with a driver cleaner like DDU, downloading and applying the Registry files for various new power limit targets you want. The following table details the different power limits and clock ranges that are offered for each type of log file. There is also a log file that cleans the Windows Registry itself of any traces of SPPT, in case you want to undo all the changes.

As we see, with the RX 5700 XT maximum frequencies of 2.3 GHz can be reached for the RX 5700XT model, while the RX 5700 model can reach 2.1 GHz.

You can inspect a log file by opening it in a plain text viewer like Notepad. Below are the links to the SPPT mods, and Registry Cleaning when we want to undo the changes. Wallossek has also shared a video on this topic, which is in German.
