Ryzen threadripper 3 appears in userbenchmark with 32 cores and 4.2 ghz

Leaks about Ryzen Threadripper 3 are getting busier and with good reason. Following the successful reception of Ryzen 3000 , many users are looking forward to the next high-end AMD (HEDT) processor.

The truth is that we do not have too much data on what is to come in terms of processors. For this reason, every leak that comes out in droplets we cover with great enthusiasm, and that is that they have appeared on the Userbenchmark website. In it we can see one of the possible new processors of the red team: the Ryzen Threadripper 3 .

The benchmarks show a rather noticeable improvement over the best CPU of the past generation, the TR 2990WX. The numbers point to a speed-up in both single and multicore, with the margin of improvement being around 30%.

As for solid data, the supposed Ryzen Threadripper 3 has 32 Zen 2 cores and frequencies of 3.6 GHz and 4.2 GHz in boost. In the test we can see that the unit obtained an average frequency of around 3.75 GHz.

The name of the unit leads us to think that it is a very early test model. However, if we compare these results with those of the TR 2990WX , the conclusions speak for themselves:

It is necessary to highlight the jump between micro-architectures. Zen 2 features much smaller 7nm transistors, so it consumes less power and doesn't need to sacrifice power. In addition, it enables technologies such as PCIe Gen 4, although to be honest it has yet to mature and standardize.
