The processor market is increasingly on and for AMD the battle did not end with Ryzen 3000 . Today we are talking about the latest leaks about the Ryzen Threadripper 3rd Generation , since the Gamers Nexus website has received valuable information.

We know some specifications of Ryzen Threadripper 3rd Generation

As you may know, Ryzen Threadripper processors have tended to target “Enthusiast Range” teams , also known as High-End DeskTop (HEDT). Overall, they have higher core counters, more cache memory, and better multi-core performance. However, according to the new data we have, it seems that this will change slightly.

Everything points to AMD releasing a couple of new sockets for Ryzen Threadripper 3rd Generation and each one will be oriented to one type of profile. Thus, the sTRX4 will be an upgraded version of TR4 , while sWRX8 will be somewhat more similar to a cheap version of AMD EPYC .

On the other hand, the presence of a third socket named apparently sTRX8 was rumored , but there is no trace of it among the leaks.

In this table we can see all the filtered data that we have, although we still have some blank spaces such as the number of cores and threads or the amount of L3 cache memory.

As for relevant data, we can see that sWRX8 will have support for 96-128 PCIe Gen 4 channels and that we will not be able to overclock it. Regarding RAM , you can use up to 8 modules simultaneously, being compatible with UDIMM, RDIMM and LRDIMM type memories .

With these bets, it appears that AMD is once again raising the bar and may attract new companies to its revamped platforms. As a result, Intel may be forced to fight more aggressively, as we saw in recent news.

And what about Ryzen Threadripper 3rd Generation ? Do you think Intel will turn it around with Ice Lake and Comet Lake ? Share your ideas in the comment box.
