The Samsung CHG70 has been one of the most anticipated monitors for gamers, for its HDR support and for bringing the new FreeSync 2 standard. The monitor seems to be finally close to launch and we have in detail all its main features.

Samsung CHG70 is the first monitor with AMD FreeSync 2

This is the world's first FreeSync HDR monitor, technically making it the first FreeSync 2 monitor we've seen so far. Samsung CHG70 features a 27-inch curved Quantum Dot display that covers 125% of the sRGB color gamut, with a resolution of 2560 × 1440. The monitor has to look amazing with these features plus support for HDR imaging technology.

The refresh rate of the monitor is 144Hz and it only has 1ms of response time, great for the most competitive gamers who require an immediate response of their movements. The CHG70 has the sacred trifecta of the perfect gaming monitor, accurate colors, low response times, and high refresh rates with adaptive technology.

AMD FreeSync 2 was announced in January at CES and aims to advance the current FreeSync standard. A key difference is going to be in the certification process. All FreeSync 2 certified monitors are now required to be low latency, high refresh rates, HDR compliant, and have Low Framerate Compensation. These stricter standards guarantee a more premium experience for gamers on any FreeSync 2 monitor compared to the FreeSync standard we currently have.

Samsung reserves the price and release date of this new monitor, but it should be very soon.
